NEW YORK (LALATE) – Cristiano Ronaldo has named his son … Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. While Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.’s baby name has been revealed, his mother’s name has not.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Jr the result of a surrogate mother, as Portuguese papers are reporting? Or is he the result of dad’s alleged encounter with a San Diego woman as U.S. papers are reporting? No one is saying, not even the soccer star’s sister Katia.

We do know Cristiano Ronaldo Jr was born in the U.S.

How and when he was sent overseas remains unclear. Katia said Ronaldo Jr looks like dad and her. But she adds “We don’t know the mother, we never met her.”

Katia doesn’t explain why dad was spotted walking around SoHo House’s pool having fun while Katia was at home tending to the Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Katia however was quick to add remarks about his current girlfriend. Irina Shayk, she said: “I don’t think she is after him for his money.”

Ronaldo Jr was born June 17. Portugal papers report Ronaldo chose a surrogate mother through Florida-based fertility clinics in summer 2009. Ronaldo’s mother says Ronaldo Jr was born in the U.S.

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s black toe nails has been mixed. Cristiano Ronaldo’s toe nails, painted with black nail polish, stepped out in New York’s SoHo House days ago; yet only today national news are stepping up with the toe nails story. Ronaldo had black nail polished toes which matched his black Speedo and black watch.

Yet, the irony is that is not a new story. Ronaldo’s toes stepped out in SoHo House over the weekend, the pictures hitting the net earlier this week. So why the viral reaction Thursday? Answer: Lindsay Lohan.

When a nation on Wednesday got captivated by Lindsay Lohan’s fingernail polish message in a Los Angeles courtroom, suddenly Ronaldo’s toes were stepping back into the news. Lohan’s fingers were big news Wednesday, with photo companies to national cable channels debating the repercussions of nail-gate.

Lohan on Tuesday, as revealed by Wednesday, had her nails polished; the middle finger carried a two word message. Lohan has since tweeted that the nail polish was not for the Judge who sentenced her to 90 days in jail and that it was just the result of a “stencil”.

In fact, Ronaldo and his toes have made news since 2009. In June of 2009, the soccer star was pictured with unbecoming toe and foot ailments, showing the impact the sport can have on a top athlete’s feet.

SOUTH AFRICA (LALATE) – Cristiano Ronaldo’s baby son was conceived by surrogate, claims reports. Cristiano Ronaldo alleged surrogate baby details headline Portugal’s Diario de Noticias paper currently on newsstands; the paper, however, does not name the woman.

British press aren’t so sure that the baby birth was by a surrogate. They contended last week and again today that the woman was in fact someone that Ronaldo was seeing in September 2009 and since has been compensated to remain quiet.

British press today claim that the baby boy was conceived while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid in September; press add that around that same time Ronaldo was reportedly dating 21-year-old Italian Raffaella Fico, a relationship neither confirmed at the time.

The son’s name has not been released; he is expected to be named “Ronaldo Junior” says insiders. The baby was born June 17 weighing 9lb 8oz. Ronaldo reportedly saw his son for the first time after Portugal’s elimination by Spain from the World Cup on June 26.

The baby’s birth location is believed to have been at his home in Vilamoura, on the Algarve. It’s there that his sister Katia informed Diario de Noticias the boy looks just like his father: “He has brown eyes and brown hair like Cristiano. He’s very happy, of course! Who isn’t happy having children? The baby looks like him, although he’s still very small to see what his features will be like. He’s very calm, he just eats and sleeps.”

Days ago Ronaldo wrote “It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy.”

SOUTH AFRICA (LALATE) – Cristiano Ronaldo says his baby mama’s name will remain a mystery. Cristiano Ronaldo’s baby mama identity is not revealed this weekend following Ronaldo’s announcement.

The question remains how long until European press figure out her identity.

In a statement this weekend, Ronaldo’s choice of words are interesting. He says that he has been “inform[ed]” to “have recently become father”. It appears from Ronaldo’s statement that he may have learned after the child’s birth.

“It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy”. Just days ago, Landon Donovan told press he too had recently learned of a possible paternity suit.
