No mugshot photo has been released to news. Missouri officials have yet to comment on news of Pinkel’s arrest. Pinkel’s attorney refused comment by local news this morning.

Officials tell news that officers arrested Gary Pinkel shortly after 10 pm local time last night. Officers of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office would not reveal further details except that the arrest was near the Missouri Orthopedic Institute.

Pinkel also said “My staff and I constantly reinforce with each of our players the importance of not putting yourself into a position such as this. I did not follow that here and for that, I sincerely apologize to the University of Missouri, to our administration, to the Board of Curators and to our fans.”

Athletic director Mike Alden issued a news statement as well. CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Greg Reid of FSU has been arrested. Greg Reid, Florida State’s cornerback, was arrested on two charges Monday. The alleged events leading to today’s arrest remain unknown.

UNM Fires Mike Locksley after Josh Butts Arrest

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – UNM fired Mike Locksley Sunday. Mike Locksley was fired one day after Josh Butts was arrested for aggravated DWI after driving a car registered to Locksley.

Tempe police confirmed to news this week that Butts, a New Mexico recruit, was arrested for aggravated DWI after he almost allegedly hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. After exiting the car, Butts, 19, reportedly stumbled. When asked where he was going, he told police he was on his way to the game in “coaches car”. There were three passengers as well, all minors.

One passenger, Ashley Wellito, 20, allegedly became hostile to police during the arrest. She claimed to shout “I will use my father’s powers [to find where you live]“.

When news broke of the arrest, Locksley and UNM refused to comment. Now local news claims UNM has fired Locksley. This ends a 2-26 record in 2 1/2 seasons.

News also indicated that before “his first season, Locksley was hit with … an age discrimination lawsuit by an administrative assistant. In September 2009, he was reprimanded after an altercation with an assistant. Locksley was suspended for 10 days.”
