Clay Aiken Weighs in Bristol Palin, Amendment One

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Clay Aiken weighed in Bristol Palin’s comments about Barack Obama and the recent Amendment One in North Carolina. Clay Aiken says that Bristol Palin has no reason to voice disapproval of President Obama’s recent remarks about marriage.

Bristol Palin wrote last week “In this case, it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.” She added “While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads. “

Aiken tells news this week that Bristol Palin shouldn’t be a spokesperson for marriage. “I hardly think Bristol Palin is the person to be a spokesperson for parenting and marriage. And so I don’t really have too much a response to her.” He added “Bristol Palin is not affected by whether or not I want to get married to someone.”

Alien also spoke about Amendment One. “[The President is] coming out and speaking up about something that obviously only has 40 percent support from North Carolinians. So, it’s very brave of him.” Aiken believes that the amendment, which defines marriage as a union between a man and women, will be repelled swiftly.

Clay Aiken, Arsenio Hall Voicemail Messages Surprise Celebrity Apprentice Fans

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Clay Aiken’s voicemail message could soon be on answering machines everywhere. That is if Lisa Lampanelli doesn’t beat him to it. Clay Aiken and Lisa Lampanelli heat up a series of hilarious new voicemail message greetings unveiled by NBC to news this month. They are released in conjunction with the Peacock’s current season of Celebrity Apprentice. But if you are expecting a standard, normal message from Aiken or Lampanelli, you might be surprised when you call. Among the possible messages available to NBC viewers are warnings of a robbery and jokes about death.

“Hel-loo this Lisa Lampanelli from the Celebrity Apprentice” says an initially friendly Lampanelli in her message unveiled to news. But that soon changes. Lisa continues “The person you are calling is not here right now. So please leave a message, or die!”

Another greeting is bit more problematic. “I don’t know who you got me …Uhura must have transferred you to me?” questions the recently eliminated George Takai. “You have reached the most beautiful person in the world” says Aubrey O’Day.

Aiken tells fans “Hi I’m Clay Aiken and you have reached my friend .. who is out with me trying to sell … cupcakes .. on Celebrity Apprentice.”

NBC has yet to comment to news about the clearance process for each greeting. But fans might be afraid to use the one offered by Arsenio Hall. Arsenio warns “I know who you called. But he not here…. but if your friend comes home, me and nine of my friends will have robbed his house.”

Clay Aiken Celebrity Apprentice Appearance Continues Charity Work

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When Clay Aiken appears on the Celebrity Apprentice 2012’s debut tonight, Aiken’s fans will know that he is continuing his longstanding effort to charity work. Celebrity Apprentice is a reality TV show, but like other Aiken efforts, the show is ultimately designed to help others in need. While other cast members on this season haven’t necessarily dominate news for previous charity work, Aiken, from work internationally to at home, has had a longstanding devotion to helping those in need.

In 2008, Aiken dominated news for his work with UNICEF. In one project, Aiken teamed up with UNICEF and Malaria No More to defeat malaria—a completely preventable disease that still kills one child every 30 seconds worldwide. Aiken told news at the time “It doesn’t have to be this way. For a limited time, Malaria No More will match your donation in the fight against malaria, helping UNICEF save twice as many lives.”

But Aiken’s work with UNICEF began years earlier. In 2004 he helped NBC4 raise $10 million in tsunami relief. That same year he worked both with UNICEF for relief overseas and at home. He recorded the song Give a Little Bit that year to aid tsunami victims. But at home he devoted work as a U.S. Fund for UNICEF National Ambassador.

By 2008, Aiken focused on Kenya and Somalia. He told news at the time “In early July, after visiting Somalia, I traveled to Eldoret, in Kenya’s Rift Valley, to visit camps for internally displaced people. This is where some of the worst violence took place following the Kenya elections in early 2008. Thousands of children were made homeless by the unrest.” Within just weeks of his efforts in July 2008, Aiken had helped raised $50,000 for UNICEF.

This season, Aiken continues his charity efforts on Celebrity Apprentice. Last season, “Celebrity Apprentice” raised a record amount for the contestants’ charities, donating over $3.1 million to charity.

Aiken says he is a bit nervous still about the series. “Just got an advance copy of the first episode of Celebrity Apprentice.” He added that he is “excited” but “a bit nervous! Let the games begin!” Aiken’s appearance on “Celebrity Apprentice” will benefit National Inclusion Project, a charity he started.

Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson Deliver Open Arms For Fans

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Clay Aiken gave Kelly Clarkson fans a major surprise, on Valentine’s Day. Kelly Clarkson delighted fans in Biloxi, MS on February 14, 2012. But during a performance of Open Arms, a familiar voice appeared from stage left.

As picked up by the Clay Aiken News Network today on Twitter, Kelly Clarkson had a surprise duet performance this week from a fellow American Idol star. The set started with Kelly singing in a darkened, blue-drenched stage. But during early verses, Clarkson turns to stage left. Clarkson kept holding her microphone close to her lips. But suddenly fans released that wasn’t Clarkson’s voice singing the next verse.

“Everybody, give it up for Clay” screamed Clarkson. Within moments, the Clarkson fan recording the performance almost dropped the video recorder in celebration. Pandemonium was so intense that Aiken’s first singing lines couldn’t be heard close to the stage.

Fan reaction has been overwhelming. “Oh, this brings back memories of the wonderful Independent Tour of 2004 when Kelly and Clay toured together and sand Open Arms every night. So great to hear them together again. Thanks so much” wrote one fan. Another added “The crowd went crazy when Clay came out. Hope you have more to upload from the concert. I was there and even under the weather she was on fire!”
