SANTA MONICA (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – What is the name of the gunman in the Santa Monica shooting rampage 2013, and what is the shooter’s name from the Santa Monica college shooting of June 7, 2013? LALATE can exclusively reveal that the shooter’s alleged first victim, his father, Samir Zawahri, was the subject of a prior temporary restraining order request by Randa Abdou.
The shooter’s first alleged victim was his father Samir Zawahri. LALATE can reveal that property records indicate that Samir Zawahri was the owner of 2036 Yorkshire Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90404. On Friday, one of Samir Zawahri’s son allegedly shot Samir and then allegedly burned down the Yorkshire Avenue house. The complete name for Samir Zawahri’s son has yet to be confirmed by police.
But LALATE can reveal however that Samir Zawahri took ownership of the 2036 Yorkshire Avenue just in 2003. Prior to June 4 that year, the registered owner was Randa Abdou and/or with joint owner Samir Zawahri. Police have yet to indicate if Randa Abdou was Samir Zawahri’s ex-wife. Neighbors however claim that Samir had allegedly been the subject of a recent divorce.
Moreover, court records obtained by LALATE Saturday reveal that Randa had previously sought a restraining order against Samir. Randa sought the TRO before the ownership transfer of the house. On May 1, 1998, Randa Abdou filed a TRO/Domestic Violence petition against Samir Zawahri.
The case number SD014315 may have been withdrawn thereafter because no proceeding was ever held in the matter before a Santa Monica Court judge. Even though the case was never adjudicated, the docket erroneously lists the matter as still “pending”.
On Friday, witnesses told local news that the shooter allegedly was the owner’s son, and that the victims inside the home were allegedly the shooter’s father and his brother. For continuing coverage, click HERE.
