Mexico vs Brazil 2011 Game Today Renews Classic Rivalry

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Mexico vs Brazil 2011 futbol game today (en vivo 9:30 PM EST) is overshadowing all the qualifying World Cup matches Tuesday. While Mexico vs Brazil 2011 bares no significance for the Copa Mundial qualifying standings, it is generating the most news coverage and fan excitement; today’s game will be a critical test of both team’s offenses. Mexico vs Brazil today is a rare showdown for the powerhouse of Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) and teammates who have not faced a formidable opponent in recent months since their Copa Oro win with Giovani Dos Santos and Pablo Barrera. And while Mexico has faltered throughout the summer, today will be ultimate test how good this team is coming into its own qualifying matches this fall.
In the Copa America, Mexico was less than stellar, losing to Chile, then Peru, and then Uruguay. But when the team had its full lineup healthy for the Gold Cup (Copa Oro) in June, it won the tournament. Mexico destroyed Costa Rica, narrowed a win against Guatemala, had a draw against Colombia, and then went on to defeat Honduras and team USA in the semi-finals and quarterfinals respectively.
But international friendlies have not been as impressive for team Mexico. Mexico was shut out by the inconsistent Venezuelans in June, and then earned a draw against USA and Poland in recent weeks. Its most recent match was a narrow 1-0 win against the Chileans in September.
Brazil, in contrast, hasn’t played that many games this year, overall. In International Friendly games, Brazil has been strong, however, but weak against good opponents. While Brazil lost to France and Germany this year, Brazil earned a draw against Argentina in one match and defeated Argentina in another.
But Brazil’s Copa America appearance also shocked news. Brazil’s earlier rounds of the Copa were filled with draws against Venezuela and Paraguay; ultimately the team was eliminated in a quarterfinals showdown against Paraguay.
Both teams enter today’s match after recent wins. Neymar delivered the game winning goal for Brazil against Costa Rica last week; Guardado did the same for Mexico against Chile the month before.
The key of the Mexican team, however, is their ability to adapt. During the Copa Oro, Chicharito told news that adaptability is critical to winning. “Yes, and thank God for that, it was a complicated match and we had to struggle to get through, but we made it.” And the Mexican sensation told news “I’m not obsessed with goals. The goals are the result of the work of the whole team. The forwards only have the good fortune to score them”.
