PHOTO! Here’s a picture of Cheyenne Woods of Wake Forest golf. Cheyenne Woods, Tiger Woods’ neice, is profiled today on NPR. LALATE profiled Cheyenne for you back in 2008.
Cheyenne got her first set of clubs the same way Tiger got his – as a youth, from Tiger’s dad and Cheyenne’s grandfather the late Earl Woods Sr.
Today Cheyenne is already ranked 100 in the world (according to the current issue of Golfweek), out of 2200 female golfers. Cheyenne grew up in Phoenix but chose Wake Forest for its liberal arts and golf program in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Cheyenne’s mother Susan is divorced from Tiger’s half brother Earl Woods Jr. Her college team in 2008 was ranked number 12 in the NCAAs. For her first tournament last year, the Duramed NCAA Fall, Woods reportedly finished 26 out of 75 players, a great start!
Woods says she will go professional after college.
