Santa Barbara Earthquake 2013 Today Erupts in Southern California

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Santa Barbara earthquake today 2013 has just erupted near Isla Vista and Goleta and could be felt across Southern California. The Santa Barbara earthquake today May 29, 2013 started moments ago, officials tells news.
USGS indicates to news that a 4.6 magnitude Santa Barbara earthquake today began just after 7:38 AM PST. The quake however had no depth. Officials tell news that the quake started just at sea level in the Pacific Ocean. The Santa Barbara earthquake today was three miles west of Isla Vista, officials tell news. It began five miles west of Goleta and twelve minutes west of Santa Barbara. Mapping reveals that the quake was northwest of Camarillo and Oxnard.
Today’s quake is close to a similar September 2011 quake. That Santa Barbara quake was centered off Highway 101 just west of the Ojai Freeway. It was northwest of where the 101 hits the Ventura freeway, close to Pierpoint Bay.
In January that year, the region was rocked by several quakes. Centered in the Channel Islands region, both quakes were twenty-six mile west of Santa Rosa, roughly thirty-five miles south of Point Conception. They were also approximately forty eight miles south of Lompoc and fifty-eight miles west of Santa Barbara. The quakes were off the westerly tip of Channel Islands and due south of the city of Lompoc on the mainland, officials added.
