Josie Harris Photos and Abuse Evidence Send Floyd Mayweather to Jail

Josie Harris Photos and Abuse Evidence Send Floyd Mayweather to Jail

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Photos of Josie Harris’ domestic violence abuse by Floyd Mayweather, and details of his threats against Harris, resulted in a jail sentence for Mayweather today. Josie Harris (pictures below) asserted battery charges against Floyd Mayweather before. But today, a Las Vegas court sent the boxer to jail for ninety days. Mayweather must report by this January. For boxing fans, the news comes at a precarious time. Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have promised to ink a deal by December 31 for a May 5, 2012 bxoing fight. With today’s news, the boxers may still secure a fight, but that date certainly won’t be in May.

Josie Harris has previously accused Floyd Mayweather of battery only to retract those allegations. In December 2003, Floyd Mayweather was arrested after Josie Harris called police. At a Las Vegas nightclub, Harris claimed Floyd had beaten her. Mayweather faced felony battery charges at time. But when Harris took the stand, she retracted her allegations. “I was basically trying to fight him. I was pulling on him and punching on him, and telling him that he was wrong and shouldn’t have left me like that with those three babies,” she told the Court at the time. “I just kicked the windshield like it was the other girl’s face. That’s when he pulled me by my hands out of the car.”

This case was different. On September 9, 2010, Harris filed a “domestic violence report”. Harris suffered “minor injuries” said local police.

Josie Harris, who has three children with Mayweather, called Vegas police to her home in the 800 block of Tropical Vine Street. The alleged incident resulted in Harris going to Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center just after 3 am local time. Lt. Rob Lundquist, who oversees the Domestic Violence Detail, told news at the time “Right now there’s allegations of domestic violence and we’re currently investigating that.”

Harris later gave a statement to police. The first encounter was roughly 2 am. She wrote “The first time he arrived I was not there but he let himself in and began searching through my belongings. He began raising his voice telling me I’m not sh–t and he will have “me and my guy friend taken care of”. I called the police and they came and escorted him out.”

She claims that, after Mayweather left with the police, Floyd returned to her residence. “Not too longer after the police left, [Mayweather] knocked on my son’s bedroom/bathroom door to be let in and my son did. At this time I did not know he was in the house standing over as I slept on the couch.” She added “He awoke me by pulling me by my hair and throwing me on the ground in my living room and began punching me in my head digging me on the floor and thrusting my arm back in an attempt to try and break it.”

Harris claims she had to tell their children to run for safety and Floyd chased them down. “My kids heard me screaming and yelling for help as I screamed to tell them to call 911 or run out the house to the security gate to get help. He yelled fiercely at the children as he continued to beat me in front of them that if they ran or tried to call the police he would beat them the same way. I kept yelling and crying to please run run run out and get help.”

Mayweather must surrender by January 6, 2012. He will get three days credit for time served.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012 Fight – Josie Harris Matter Won’t Sideline Efforts

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012 Fight - Josie Harris Matter Won't Sideline Efforts

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012 fight, a deal expected to be inked by December 31, won’t be sidelined by the Josie Harris matter today. A Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao May 5, 2012 fight is expected to be consumated by December 31, 2011, with most sides anxiously negotiating daily, Bob Arum tells news this month. Today, however, Floyd Mayweather returned to Court in the Josie Harris matter. In fall 2010, Josie Harris (photos below) claimed Floyd Mayweather threatened to kill her after he alleged stole items from her home. Josie Harris’ allegations against Mayweather date back to 2003.

Harris told police in 2010 “A week and a half ago Floyd showed up to my house unannounced making threats about doing bodily harm to me and so I called the police. He left by the time they arrived. They told me to call the police again if he shows up unannounced and not welcomed doing things to make me feel uncomfortable.” Harris said Mayweather allegedly started attacking her as she slept. “He awoke me by pulling me by my hair and throwing me on the ground in my living room and began punching me in my head digging me on the floor and thrusting my arm back in an attempt to try and break it.”

Mayweather is current in a Las Vegas court as of 11:30 AM PST. He is expected to plead guilty to single misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He was originally charged with a felony.

In 2003, Deputy District Attorney Alexandra Chrysanthis asked Harris if Mayweather had “laid a hand on her” during a 2003 alleged incident. “No, not at all… [He's] a teddy bear… I know that no matter what I did that he would never put his hands on me.” Initially in 2003 Harris claimed Floyd had beaten her. Mayweather faced felony battery charges. Harris later retracted her testimony.

UPDATE – Mayweather has been sentenced to ninety days in jail with three days credit for time served. He must surrender by January 6, 2012. As a result, a May 5, 2012 fight date seems highly unlikely even if a deal is inked later this month.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 Fight Deal Expected by December 31

Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 Fight Deal Expected by December 31

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Consummating a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight remains the boxing world’s main focus, Bob Arum told news this weekend. The Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight has been under fire for weeks with skeptics calling such talks as simply vacant promises for a fight that allegedly will never happen. Throughout the last two years, boxing critics have accused both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao of pursuing other boxing deals while not consummating the fight that boxing fans truly want. And despite Arum’s assurances that a fight deal is being pushed for finalization before December 31, Arum failed to silence critics this weekend.

Arum says, that despite criticism, his camp’s primary and sole focus is consummating a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight. After months, and arguably years, of Arum, Pacquiao and Mayweather chatting about a deal that never formulated, Arum told the Las Vegas Review Journal that this time his camp has one sole focus. But critics won’t be pleased. Arum also told news that his camp has backup plans ready to go as well, and that Arum will pursue those deals swiftly as well.

As to Floyd and Manny fighting, Arum said “That’s the priority.” Arum added “We’re working on trying to make that a reality. But you have to understand that this isn’t the kind of fight you make in 15 minutes. It doesn’t work that way. It takes time, and my obligation is to get Manny the best deal possible.”

But while Arum assured news his focus is the deal with Floyd, Arum also said he has other backup fights ready to go. “If it’s with Mayweather, great… If it’s not Mayweather, there’s another fight with (Juan Manuel) Marquez. (Miguel) Cotto would like a rematch with Manny. Tim Bradley would like to fight him. Maybe Brandon (Rios).”

What is the deadline for consummating a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight? Arum has yet to detail that extensively to news. But he has said the two camps want the deal done by December 31. He also believes that deal will get done by that date. And if it isn’t finalized by New Year’s, will the fight be ostensibly dead? Arum doesn’t have an answer. “Hopefully, we’ll be able before the new year to bridge that gap and make that fight happen.”

Mayweather vs Pacquiao Fight 2012 Will Break Boxing Records: Arum

Mayweather vs Pacquiao Fight 2012 Will Break Boxing Records: Arum

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight, if consummated, will break boxing records, Bob Arum tells news. A Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao May 5, 2012 fight will go down as the biggest boxing fight off all time, Arum claims. But he asserts that the term “biggest” needs some qualification. Arum also claims that the fight will be inked later this month.

Bob Velin asked Arum on his 80th birthday what is the biggest fight of all time. Arum replied that a 2012 Mayweather Pacquiao fight will achieve that goal. “It certainly will be” he told news. But he qualified the term “biggest.”

“[B]ut you have to remember, when people say it the biggest fight, what does that mean?” Arum says the biggest fight of all time technically is Ali-Frazier at Garden. But he says that technical limitations of 1971 vs 2012 prevented Ali-Frazier from being seen in as many markets as the fighters would have liked. For Ali-Frazier “we were limited to 400 locations.”

But for Mayweather-Pacquiao “we have satellites, both domestic and international. And the domestic satellites alone reach 90 million homes that can buy the fight.” Arum tells news that if “biggest” means “taking in the most money”, than Mayweather-Pacquiao will achieve that goal.

Trainer Freddie Roach knows that a 2012 fight is a possibility. So Roach tells news that he has already lined up new sparring partners for Pacman if the deal is inked. “I will bring in a whole new crew of sparring partners, guys that can imitate Floyd well. There isn’t a lot of guys in the world that are like Floyd, so it would be tough to find them,” Roach tells abs-cbnnews.com. “We would prepare for his counter punching ability, and his speed, which is maybe equal to Manny’s, if not better.”

Recently Floyd told news that, in his mind, Pacman lost his most recent fight and other fights that he was given victories. Roach in turn tells news “I think we can take advantage of those [bad Floyd boxing] habits “. He added “He does have some bad habits that can be exposed.”

Cotto vs Margarito II Results Tonight – Miguel Cotto Named Winner 2011

Cotto vs Margarito II Results Tonight - Miguel Cotto Named Winner 2011

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Cotto vs Margarito II 2011 fight results prompted a stunning ending tonight. The Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito fight tonight December 3, 2011 didn’t end the way Margarito had desired. Tonight’s results following weeks of battling camps, fuming promoters, and even disgruntled partners. But after dominating scoring round-by-round tonight, Miguel Cotto won the fight with a 10th round TKO.

Coming into tonight’s fight, Cotto had told news that Margarito, in his mind, was less a man than his pet dog Rex. Cotto said to news “The [California] commission said he has plaster in his hands. I just think [of] the possibility he used it in the fight with me.” Cotto added “Margarito is not a gentleman. He’s not a man.. For me, Rex — my dog — is more person than him.” Cotto had assured news that, if Margarito didn’t have plaster on his hands tonight, Cotto would win. “He doesn’t have the same plaster in this fight and the result is going to be different.”

Cotto said that Margarito has no advantages in the ring otherwise. “I don’t feel any respect for him, and I am going to take advantage of his eye like he took advantage of the plaster,” Cotto fumed to news this week.

Margarito had defended his record, however. Margarito assured news that he was a clean fighter. “He wants to take it personal, but I’m taking it very personal, too,” Margarito said. He added “I’m a clean fighter. There was nothing illegal. And that’s it. I didn’t go into the ring with anything. I know I’m a clean fighter. Period. End of story.” Margarito said that Cotto’s allegations were baseless. “If they think that I had plaster, it will hurt like I was using plaster. And he will know it.”

Bob Arum this week was making more news for predictions about a possible Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2012 fight. Arum, however, tried his best to refocus attention on Cotto vs Margarito II. Arum said tensions are good, not bad. “Hagler and Hearns had built up an unbelievable hate for each other”. Arum added that “I remember we had to break up a fight between them at a St. Louis press conference, and by the time they got in the ring, they didn’t give a s—.” He noted “They heard that bell and it was scary. They just wanted to beat the s— out of each other, and they did. It was a short fight [three rounds], but probably the best fight I’ve ever promoted.”

Arum said that many fighter feuds are staged for news coverage. But the feud between Margarito and Cotto is stronger than any news report can ever document, Arum claimed. “Usually when these grudges occur, the fighters have the attitude that it’s great for the business. With these guys, Cotto and Margarito, it’s personal — really, really personal.” He said that Cotto and Margarito are not into hype; they were rather focused on settling their dispute, with a win tonight. “I remember before the second Ali-Frazier fight, there was a lot of animosity, but Ali justified it as a way to sell tickets. They didn’t like each other, but they’re doing some things to hype the business for the fight. But not this one.”

Arum said that Cotto’s allegations would fuel a vicious fight in the ring Saturday. He was right. “This is really beyond anything I’ve seen,” he said. “Cotto firmly believes now, after what happened before the Mosley fight, that Margarito’s gloves were loaded and that his well-being and career were affected. And Margarito knows that wasn’t the case, as far as he is concerned, and he is really pissed off at Cotto. These guys really hate each other.”

But in the end, the winner of Cotto vs Margarito II was Miguel Cotto with a TKO three seconds into the 10th round.

Cotto vs Margarito II Start Time and Channel Prompts Ratings Battle

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – What time is the Cotto vs Margarito fight on? What channel is the Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito II fight airing tonight? HBO is expecting to win its ratings fight tonight when boxing vs UFC programming go head-to-head for the second time in less than thirty days.

Last month, on November 12, Fox battled HBO when it aired UFC fights on a night that HBO slotted Pacquiao vs. Marquez. And while Cotto certainly doesn’t draw viewers like Pacquiao, HBO is expecting a easy victory in the ratings ring when it airs in PPV Cotto vs Margarito II on night that Spike airs UFC TUF Season 14 Finale.

Cotto vs Margarito II was to dominate boxing news this week. And despite the war of words between the boxers, more attention was on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012 fight Just days ago, Bob Arum was telling news that he was hopeful for the Mayweather – Pacquiao 2012 fight. At the same time, he was trying to focus on this week’s fight.

Arum said of Cotto vs Margarito I, “The first fight was a classic.” He added “I have a feeling that this fight will be much more intense, an outright war.”

Melissa Cotto even commented to news this week about the attention her husband’s fight has drawn. “To see Margarito — anger. It fills me with anger, because he played with the life of my husband,” she said.

Cotto vs Margarito’s start time is 9 PM EST, with the main event expected to start closer to 11 PM EST. Despite HBO’s programming schedule, UFC slotted its preliminary rounds of UFC TUF 14 Finale at 5:45 PM today on Facebook. The final main event fight will air on Spike far in advance of Cotto and Margarito getting in the ring.

Cotto told news this week that he intends to embarrass Margarito in the ring. “If you don’t know what a criminal means, you can look it up in the dictionary.” He added “It’s someone who uses a weapon. … You are like a child. You are an embarrassment to boxing. I am going to slap you like a little girl.” For live results tonight, watch the flash player at the top, or click HERE.
