INDIANAPOLIS (LALATE) – Billy Ray Cyrus sung the National Anthem (photo above) for NFL’s Monday Night Football this evening, less than one week after his divorce from wife Leticia Finley (Tish) Cyrus. Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley, with the exception of one brief news statement, have yet to comment about the divorce. But tonight, that didn’t stop Bill Ray Cyrus heading to Indianapolis to headline tonight’s Texans vs Colts game. Reaction on Twitter was mixed, one fan writing “Billy Ray Cyrus singing the National Anthem…does that mean “Acky Breaky Heart” at halftime?”

Cyrus is divorcing Tish, his second wife, after 17 years. The couple confirmed their divorce last week having married less roughly 1 year after Cyrus’ first divorce to Cindy Smith. And while the divorce news was confirmed last week, the couple’s split “was a long time coming” claimed E! News at the time.

Just in September, Tish Cyrus made news for seeking to change her name just like Miley did earlier. The pop singer had changed to Miley Cyrus from Destiny Hope Cyrus; Miley’s mom told news at the time she wanted to change her name from Leticia Finley Cyrus to Tish Cyrus.

And while Billy Ray took to the field tonight, his divorce case will be played out in Tennessee. His daughter Cyrus turns 18 on November 23. Miley along with Braison, 16, and Noah, 10, are currently of minor age are hence subject, at least currently, of custody claims in the divorce.

Several days ago the above photo of Cyrus got posted on Twitter, prompting fans to ask if it was a real or a twitpic joke.

Billy Ray will confirm tonight on TV it is real, says reports. Reportedly dad will tell King:

“She said, ‘Daddy would you take me to get my nose pierced?’ I said, ‘Did you ask your momma?’ and she said, ‘Momma said I can do it if you would take me.’” “We went to a little place in studio city. I felt kind of nervous.

“…. It’s about that moment in a daddy’s life that you realize your little girl has grown up. It’s time for her to make her own decisions…”

Awww.

So the big question – do we like the piercing or not?

Last week, Cyrus’ tickets for her new tour went on sale, and last weekend dad Cyrus confirmed 2010 will be the end of the tv run for Hannah Montana.

Miley Cyrus defends her “Cuddly” relationship with her father Bill Ray Cyrus. But is Miley Cyrus’ cuddly dad chatter just a publicity stunt?

It certainly smells it. At best, Cyrus is being a hyprocrite.

Miley Cyrus is drumming up publicity for her upcoming book by referring to some public criticism of her cuddly relationship with dad. What criticism? If you’ve never heard of any of the “cuddly” criticism, than the publicity Miley is getting this weekend for these passages might seem fake.

“The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter. For me and my dad it’s not weird at all.”

And it doesn’t end there.

Cyrus ironically writes in the book that she reportedly doesn’t want other people to speak about her troubles, flaws, or criticisms, but then writes herself about it and uses those passages for publicity.

“In Miles to Go,” Cyrus mentions an ex boyfriend, but also does not come clean and mention him by name.

Cyrus wants them to appear on the show next April … right around when the movie comes on. Of course he does. Talk about trying to get free publicity.

“They probably will. The invitation is there. You know the ‘Hannah Montana’ film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then.”

When asked by Access Hollywood, Cyrus said: “I can’t, I can’t. I have got to keep a secret.” Secret? Yes, Hannah Montana storylines are definitely up there with national security secrets. Please, America elected Obama to save our economy, not put boxoffice numbers in Cyrus’ pockets.

And Miley’s take: “I think that would be really cool and if anything, have them visit the set.”
