Billy Mays US Airways

VIDEO! Here is video of Billy Mays and that U.S. Airways plane Flight 1241 before his death. Billy Mays’ seat belt was not buckled during the plane’s landing, says reports Sunday.

On Saturday, the plane landed in Tampa from Philly.

Local FOX News spoke with Mays after he exited the plane. The report said the plane “landed with a bang” causing a runway to be closed for hours. Brenda Geoghagan of Tampa International Airport issued the following statement Saturday evening:

“We have two active runways here but keep in mind the West runway, probably 90 to 95 percent of our jet traffic uses that runway because that puts the noise out over the bay,” said

While reports state no passenger injuries occurred, the situation was described as a blown tire under the nose of the plane during landing.

Mays upon exiting the plane told FOX:

“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head”.

Cause of death will be known Monday following an autopsy planned. Billy Mays was 50.

May’s death has shocked PITCHMEN fans Sunday. But questions surround if a failure by Mays to wear his seat belt during an unusual plane landing hours before his death contributed to his suddenly passing.

Here is the latest.

Billy Mays arrived Saturday night on US Airways Flight 1241. In the landing, Mays’ head reportedly got struck from above by something when the plane’s front tire blew. Mays told local Fox News last night:

“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.”

Mays thought he was fine. But hours late, at home Sunday morning, Billy was found dead by his wife.

She has issued the following statement today:

“Although Billy lived a public life, we don’t anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.”

Billy was 50.
