Kobe Bryant Besiktas Deal Pursued – Is Kobe Playing in Turkey?

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Besiktas and Kobe Bryant representatives are taking about Kobe playing in Turkey. Besiktas, the basketball team that signed Deron Williams (Nets) recently, confirms to news that Bryant’s representatives are interested in Kobe going to Turkey.
No deal has been formalized, but provisions were revealed to news. Besiktas has offered Bryan $500,000 per month. Bryant, according to NTV Spor, wants $1 million per month. ESPN reports that Williams’ complete deal was worth $5 million.
In April 2010, Bryant had hinted that international deals are possibly in his future. But that month, he signed a new $90 million contract deal extension with the Lakers.
Kobe’s Lakers deal expires in 2014. This year he was paid $27.4 million. His next season will be $30.2 million, and then $32 million his finale year. When asked by ESPN if he would retire after that 3rd year at age 35, Kobe said “I doubt it, but it’s possible.”
In October, Besiktas’ rep Seref Yalcin told Turkish news organization DHA that Allen Iverson was coming to Turkey. At the time, the terms of the contract were one year for $1.5 million with a $300,000 signing bonus after passing medical testing in Istanbul. The contract was set to have a one year option.
