Obama Health Care Live STREAM!

Obama Health Care Live STREAM

LIVE STREAM! Watch live streaming video online of the Obama Health Care reform speech today. The Obama Health Care speech today March 20 2010 started roughly 7 minutes ago at 1 pm PST 4 pm EST.

Earlier today, the President spoke on Health Insurance Reform in Fairfax, Virginia at George Mason University Patriot Center.

CLICK HERE FOR THE LIVE STREAMING VIDEO

The President said the following speech today at George Mason about Health Care reform:

____

And now three years later, I stand before you, one year after the worst recession since the Great Depression, having to make a bunch of tough decisions, having had a tumultuous debate, having had a lot of folks who were skeptical that we could get anything done. And right now, we are at the point where we are going to do something historic this weekend. That’s what this health care vote is all about.

A few miles from here, Congress is in the final stages of a fateful debate about the future of health insurance in America. (Applause.) It’s a debate that’s raged not just for the past year but for the past century. One thing when you’re in the White House, you’ve got a lot of history books around you. (Laughter.) And so I’ve been reading up on the history here. Teddy Roosevelt, Republican, was the first to advocate that everybody get health care in this country. (Applause.) Every decade since, we’ve had Presidents, Republicans and Democrats, from Harry Truman to Richard Nixon to JFK to Lyndon Johnson to — every single President has said we need to fix this system. It’s a debate that’s not only about the cost of health care, not just about what we’re doing about folks who aren’t getting a fair shake from their insurance companies. It’s a debate about the character of our country -– (applause) — about whether we can still meet the challenges of our time; whether we still have the guts and the courage to give every citizen, not just some, the chance to reach their dreams. (Applause.)

At the heart of this debate is the question of whether we’re going to accept a system that works better for the insurance companies than it does for the American people — (applause) — because if this vote fails, the insurance industry will continue to run amok. They will continue to deny people coverage. They will continue to deny people care. They will continue to jack up premiums 40 or 50 or 60 percent as they have in the last few weeks without any accountability whatsoever. They know this. And that’s why their lobbyists are stalking the halls of Congress as we speak, and pouring millions of dollars into negative ads. And that’s why they are doing everything they can to kill this bill.

So the only question left is this: Are we going to let the special interests win once again?

In “related” news, Sarah Palin is talking about the health care summit today.

“We should be thankful for yesterday’s 7-hour health care summit – it was helpful in that it allowed Americans to hear the fundamental differences in approaches to meeting health care challenges. On one side, commonsense conservatives laid out fiscally-sound, free market-based, patient-centered solutions; and on the left’s side we heard about the Democrats’ belief that growing government is the only way to meet challenges.”

Obama Logo Missile Defense Agency Logo!

Posted on February 24th, 2010 in Barack Obama by lalate

Obama Logo Missile Defense Agency Logo

PHOTOS! Was the Obama campaign logo used by the Missile Defense Agency (pictures above)? The Obama Logo and the Missile Defense Agency (for the U.S. Department of Defense) are side by side above.

Wednesday, reaction to the logo comparison is going viral with many asking if the Agency drew from the Obama logo, and if so, is that appropriate.

In both, three red lines wrap the base of the blue O crossing left to right and decreasing in width from left to right. Both utilizing the red 3 line format separated by white outlines.

Yet in the Obama logo, the image is clearly an O where in the Defense department its clearly in reference to a planet moreso than an O, with the addition of a star.

But the pairing of the same colors with same hues, and the placement of the red and white stripping at the base call the overwhelming similarity.

Obama Teleprompter 6th Grade PHOTOS

PHOTOS! Here again are pics of the Obama 6th Grade Teleprompter! The Obama Teleprompter for 6th Graders is back in the news as pundits debate Sarah Palin’s hand crib notes against Obama’s need to use a Teleprompter to talk to school kids.

The question is
1) which one is funnier
2) which one bothers you more
3) and does either even matter.

When NPR radio asked listeners, they found 47% were bothered by Palin’s notes compares to 27% bothered by Obama’s 6th trade teleprompter. But 23% said they could care less about the situation.

Captions read:

“President Barack Obama, accompanied by Education Secretary Arne Duncan, speaks to the media after a discussion with 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.”

Obama has used teleprompters at town halls, random meetings, but a room of 6 graders?

So which one was funnier?
