Arie was asked if he would do The Bachelor in the future. Arie’s complete statement read “(Laughs) Well, you know, my fiancee might not approve of that. (Laughs) No, I’m just joking.” He added “Basically, it’s hilarious because I know that’s a hot topic right now, but who knows what will happen. If I am engaged to Emily, I don’t think it’s possible for me to become the next Bachelor.”

In the complete statement, Arie does not suggest that he wins the Bachelorette 2012 nor that he is engaged to Emily. But when the story was then released to news, the comments were highly edited and spun, claims RealitySteve.

Steve claims that Arie’s lines were edited down to just “My fiancé might not approve of that” and “I don’t think my fiancée would approve of that”. Steve claims that, post editing, Arie’s lines “completely changes the whole context of his answer”, making viewers believe that Arie wins the season and that he was leaking his own win to news.

So why did this happen? RealitySteve claims that it was a purposely devised publicity stunt to attract attention away from the real winner of the season, either Jef or Sean, and make viewers think Arie wins.

Steve claims that, if this was the result of a publicity stunt, then “Arie isn’t the one chosen in the end. He basically spoiled that he definitely isn’t engaged to her. So good job.”

So if spoilers are correct, the Bachelorette 2012 winner is either Sean or Jef. This week, Jef told Reality TV World that he hopes Emily falls in love with his personality, not his background (aka Arie). “She seemed like a southern belle who is conservative and I didn’t want to go in there looking like — I didn’t want my image to be the demise of me.” He added “I didn’t want to go home the first night just because of the way I look. I wanted her to really get to know me. So I felt like my personality would come out the best if I looked like that and cut my hair a little shorter.”

Third, spoilers have asserted that, since filming of the Bachelorette 2012 season has ended, the final three men have gone into ABC security residences. The final three men purportedly have not been allowed to have outside contact, face to face, with news or photographers since production ended.

If all those spoilers are correct, then in the final episode either Jef Holm, Arie Luyendyk Jr., or Sean Lowe got engaged to Emily, and are still engaged to her. But, on Friday, Arie Luyendyk Jr. gave the most bizarre news statement yet of this Bachelorette 2012 season. During a telephone conference call with news media, Arie was asked by Entertainment Tonight if he would be interested in doing the Bachelor for a future season. Arie responded that he would not be interested because he is now …. engaged. When asked if he would appear in the next Bachelor, Arie said “My fiancé might not approve of that.”

It remains unclear why Entertainment Tonight didn’t ask Arie a single follow up question. ET claims that Arie was not joking in his remarks. If Arie wasn’t joking, the question remains if he accidentally slipped in his remarks, or if the engagement revelation was an intentional, deliberate, leak planned for the interview. Earlier in the same conversation, Arie told news that he believes that Emily has a better connection with him than any other cast member this season.

Wetpaint asked her “is it safe to say Emily eventually found out about Cassie and Arie’s history?” Owen breaks silence and says “Yes, she was made aware of it. But what’s been reported isn’t what really happened. Not even close.”

Previous news reports claim that Lambert, a producer on The Bachelorette, had asked Arie in previous seasons to join the show, but that he declined. The same reports claimed that Arie told friends on taking this season’s gig that he believed he could win the entire season.

But how did Arie get the show? Owen tells WetPaint that Arie got the show because of his own efforts, not someone else’s. Reportedly, producers were pursuing another race car driver to be part of the cast. During the audition process, Arie was allegedly used by the other driver as a reference. Producers allegedly called Arie to ask him about the other driver. At the end of the conversation, Arie, according to Owen, told producers that he would like to be considered for the season as well. She claims that within one month Arie was hired by producers.
