But, on Friday, Arie Luyendyk Jr. gave the most bizarre news statement yet of this Bachelorette 2012 season. During a telephone conference call with news media, Arie was asked by Entertainment Tonight if he would be interested in doing the Bachelor for a future season. Arie responded that he would not be interested because he is now …. engaged. When asked if he would appear in the next Bachelor, Arie said “My fiancĂ© might not approve of that.”

It remains unclear why Entertainment Tonight didn’t ask Arie a single follow up question. ET claims that Arie was not joking in his remarks. If Arie wasn’t joking, the question remains if he accidentally slipped in his remarks, or if the engagement revelation was an intentional, deliberate, leak planned for the interview.
