Apple Dividend, Stock Repurchase 2012 Revealed in Conference Call Today

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – An Apple dividend and a stock repurchase plan 2012 has been confirmed. Apple will discuss its new dividend price and stock repurchase plans during its live streaming online March 19, 2012 conference call, underway within minutes.

First Apple says it will pay a $2.65 per share quarterly dividend. Second, Apple tells news that it will repurchase ten billion dollars in shares over the next three years. Apple (AAPL) made the news announcement before today’s highly anticipated telephone conference call.

Over the weekend, most analysts told news that they anticipated a $10/share annual dividend. That number was expected to equate to a 1.7% dividend yield consistent with other industry competitors. Second, analysts anticipated an Apple stock repurchased of sixteen million shares annually.

Today, Apple unveiled its two plans. The quarterly dividend of $2.65 a share is being applauded by investors. And analysts are not surprised by a $10 billion stock repurchase program that will be handled over three years.

When will the Apple dividend start paying out? Apple tells news that the dividend will begin in fourth quarter fiscal 2012.

Analysts immediately told news that they have adjusted the price target of the stock up. Berenberg raised targets to $775 from $445 and Mizuho Securities drove it up to $700 from $635. Start time on the Apple Conference Call for today March 17 will be 6 am PST / 9 am EST. You can watch it in QuickTime HERE.

Apple Black Friday 2011 Sales Disappoint iPhone Shoppers

Apple Black Friday 2011 Sales Disappoint iPhone Shoppers

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Apple Black Friday 2011 ad sales disappointed iPhone shoppers today with the device not being adding to discounting. Apple announced its Black Friday 2011 sale ads moments ago, and consistent with news predictions, the iPhone was not mentioned. Other news analysts have been critical of Apple price points for this Holiday season with discounting as little as nine percent on some items.

While the iPhone didn’t make the Apple Black Friday discounting list, the iPad and iPhone did. The iPad 2 got a meek nine percent discounting today, Apple confirmed to news. The iPod touch was slashed a mere twelve percent. But making the most news was the decision by Apple to cut price points on laptop and desktop devices at roughly a mere nine percent on one thousand dollar items.

While consumers might be disappointed by the lack of discounting by Apple of its most popular items for Black Friday 2011, the good bargains came could be found in accessory items. Apple Black Friday were slashed nearly fifty-percent today. A Philips DC390 Dual Dock Clock Radio with Remote was slashed by more than fifty percent.

Many of the best deals were web-only, as well. A Cole Haan 15″ Leather Messenger Bag for MacBook Pro got nearly a thirty-percent discount. But luckily the merchant had price points for all consumer spending levels. The Michael Kors Wallet Clutch for iPhone 4S, a stunning premium leather designer clutch wallet, was confirmed to news today as a one day sale price of only twenty-two dollars.

The Situation Apple Store iPod Controversy Erupts

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – There was “a Situation” at the Apple Store concerning Mike Sorrentino this week. The Situation allegedly cut the line at the Apple Store to get the new iPhone, only to be thrown out of the store and denied an iPhone all together, claims the new report. On the Jersey Shore, The Situation is usually fighting with Ronnie. But this week, The Situation was reportedly battling Apple store officials.

The Jersey rumble allegedly erupted after Sorrentino headed to a local store to purchase the new iPhone 4S. Sorrentino reportedly went to the Store on the iPhone 4S launch date, a day that prompted thousands of lines across the country. Rather than wait in line, The Situation is accused of trying to cut the line.

Persons in the line spotted the drama and allegedly contacted store officials. When Sorrentino got to the front of the line, the store allegedly recognized The Situation (who was not flexing his abs), and reportedly tossed him out of the store.

The Situation has yet to comment about the report.

Remembering Steve Jobs, Apple Email Established for Condolences

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Apple tonight established an email to express condolences for Steve Jobs. Apple allowed users, employees, and friends tonight to share their “thoughts, memories, and condolences” through the email set up at rememberingsteve@apple.com. Apple confirms to news that it wishes to celebrate Jobs’ life and invites comments about Jobs and how his vision touched people’s lives, worldwide.

Tim Cook issued a news statement upon Jobs’ passing tonight. Cook said “I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today”. Cook said that, with Jobs’ passing, Apple had “lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.” Cook also called Jobs a caring person and an “inspiring mentor.” And despite his passing, Jobs leaves a  “spirit [that] will forever be the foundation of Apple” Cook told news this evening.

Cook encouraged others to celebrate Jobs through the Apple website tonight. “We are planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon.”

Jobs’ family issued the following statement to news tonight. “Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family. In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family.”

Jobs’ family indicated a special website may also be set up for users to remember Jobs. “We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve’s illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories.

They added “We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief.”

Apple Hulu Deal Being Pursued, $2 Billion Sale Possible

Apple Hulu Deal Being Pursued

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – An Apple Hulu deal is being pursued, yet unconfirmed, claims a new report today. An Apple Hulu deal will likely not be imminent, with Bloomberg reporting such a deal is  currently in early stage negotations. The news follows weeks of confirmation that Hulu is seeking a buyer.

Insiders believe the deal makes sense for Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). With many of the major networks and studios already placing their content on Hulu, a sale would give Apple instant access to that rights across the platform. The synergies with Apple TV would still need modification. But PCWorld reports that the deal would give Apple a five year extension of programming rights with the first two years as exclusive.

Apple has $76.2 billion in cash and securities on hand. Hulu generates $500 million in revenues annually. At a price tag of $2 billion, the sale could be recouped from the platform’s earnings in four years; but details of Apple’s ability to utilize rights across other existing Apple platforms are still unclear.

Hulu’s owners Walt Disney Co., News Corp. and Comcast Corp.’s NBC Universal are reportedly interested in holding to the five year deal.

But the price tag has yet to be confirmed, rather valued by Bloomberg and SNL Kagan. As Bloomberg notes, Jobs is Disney’s biggest shareholder, and Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger has confirmed as recently as this month that a Hulu sale is being pursued.

Steve Jobs Book, iSteve, Confirmed as Official Biography

Steve Jobs Book, iSteve, Confirmed as Official Biography

LOS ANGELES (ALLATE) – The new book about Steve Jobs, iSteve: The Book of Jobs, is confirmed as Jobs’ first ever official biography. The Jobs book is being penned by Walter Isaacson. This is not Steve Jobs’ first biography, just his first official one. Jobs granted Walter Isaacson unprecedented personal access to pen the biography that will arrive in early 2012, confirms publisher Simon & Schuster to news Monday.

Simon & Schuster’s news revelations today suggest the extent to which Jobs was completely involved in its process. In the last few years, several biographies of comparable nature were confirmed to news only weeks, if not just days, before publication. And while the publisher today is not revealing too many details of the book, it does confirm that it was be focused on innovation.

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), in contrast, has held most his press conferences in the last twelve months with virtually no advance detail of their agendas. Apple last press conference featured Jobs’ appearance in complete surprise to attendees, prompting a standing ovation.

The pairing of Walter Isaacson with Jobs is the most apparent trait that is making news today. Isaacson has previously embraced theme of American innovation in his previously entries like “Benjamin Franklin: An American Life,” “Einstein: His Life and Universe.”

“This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world’s greatest innovators. Just as he did with Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, Walter Isaacson is telling a unique story of revolutionary genius,” Simon & Schuster Publisher Jonathan Karp said in a statement issued to news today.
