Holland Cokeley, Jeff Cokeley Turtle Shocks Pennsylvania Town

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A Holland Cokeley and Jeff Cokeley turtle found forty-seven years later shocked a Pennsylvania town this week. Holland Cokeley found a turtle with his son’s Jeff Cokeley initials “JC” wandering on his land this week. But what shocked local news is that the turtle also carried the dated “1965″. Son Jeff Cokeley, forty seven years ago, carved his initials and the date on the turtle’s shell.

Jeff Cokeley had the surprise of his life this week when his 85 year old father, Holland, called him up on the phone. Jeff, who now lives in Rochester, NY, tells news that he started laughing after Holland emailed him pictures of what he had found.

Holland Cokeley found on the back of his property the same turtle from 1965. Holland tells news that the turtle looked in great shape. “I picked it up, and I thought ‘Oh geez, this is Jeff’s turtle!’” Holland told local news channel KDKA. “It’s been here for 47 years, and it still has the same — the same — markings on it.”

In fact, Holland admits to news that he didn’t find the turtle. Rather his dog began barking vehemently after the pet spotted the turtle meandering through the South Strabane Township back lot.

Bullied Dolphin, Wayward in Bolsa Chica, Prompts Huntington Beach Debate

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The “bullied dolphin”, wayward in the Bolsa Chica wetlands, is now prompting a Huntington Beach debate among experts. The bullied dolphins was initially wayward in Huntington Beach’s Bolsa Chica wetlands over the weekend. Officials decided to allow the dolphin to return on its own accord back into the harbor. But in one attempt, the dolphin was apparently bullied to flea back into the wetlands. Now experts are debating how to treat the bullied dolphin.

Initially dubbed the “wayward dolphin of Bolsa Chica”, the mammal drew national news coverage this weekend as locals awaited his return into the sea. The adult male dolphin had gotten lost, and headed into the Bolsa Chica wetlands last Thursday. The dolphin was safe in the wetlands. So locals awaited his attempt to reenter the harbor’s waters.

Suddenly, on Saturday officials told news that they were able to get the wayward dolphin to swim back into the harbor. But a successful return turned frantic.

Roughly one hundred yards into the harbor’s waters, the wayward dolphin was “attacked” by what are being dubbed as bully dolphins, a cluster of mammals whose aggressiveness prompted the wayward dolphin back into the Bolsa Chica.

Now the wayward dolphin has been dubbed the “bullied dolphin”. He remains inside the Bolsa Chica. His condition is unchanged. Officials have been able to monitor his heart rate, his eating habits, and more. All conditions are normal.

Officials, however, warn news and local residents not to get in the way of the dolphin and force his entry back into the harbor. They tell news that the dolphin has chosen to retreat to the Bolsa Chica. For now, the only treatment, some officials claim, is to let the bullied dolphin prepare himself, and his ego, for his second attempt back into the harbor.

Peter Wallerstein, director of El Segundo-based Marine Animal Rescue, says of the dolphin “He was scared, he was intimidated, he was bullied.” He adds “There could be tension among the dolphin pod and dolphins can be very aggressive, even among themselves.”

Six Legged Lamb Becomes Local Celebrity For Farmers

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A six-legged lamb born in Georgia is shocking farmers. The six-legged lamb is a mutation that happened at conception, scientist believe. Farmers tell news that mutations are not unusual. But locals have never heard of a lamb with six legs.

A local vet Auto Zardiashvili tells news this week that farmers have seen one-eyed and three-legged lambs. But they have never seen a six-legged lamb. The lamb born in Velistsikhe, Georgia is the biggest celebrity in town now, delivering two hind legs and four front legs, and drawing news reporters from across the globe. Yet, officials tell news that the lamb is able to walk well with all six of them. They also say the lamb is growing well and has a great appetite.

How did this happen? Zardiashvili tells news that they were probably twins but the embryos joined giving us “a strange lamb” in his words. And yet, farmers have not chosen a name for their celebrity lamb. Farmers believe the lamb is in great spirits and enjoys the attention.

But researchers tell news this is not the first six-legged lamb. One was born in Belgium that was five years ago.

San Diego Shark Sighting at Imperial Beach Confirmed as Great White

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A San Diego shark sighting at Imperial Beach has been confirmed as a great white. Imperial Beach surfers spotted the great white shark this week, prompting a San Diego shark alert for the region.

On Tuesday morning, surfers saw what they thought was a great white shark while catching the waves at Imperial Beach. One surfer was able to shoot pictures of the large dorsal fin.

Surfers later told news that the San Diego shark was spotted two hundred yards from the beach. “Right when he came towards me … that’s when I saw the biggest fin I’ve ever seen” said the surfer to local news.

Investigators have since confirmed that the spotting was accurate. Moreover, they believe that the surfers had spotted a sixteen to eighteen foot long great white shark.

A shark advisory is currently in effect. If no other sightings occur today, officials confirm to news that the advisory will expire tomorrow.

Westminster Dog Show 2012 New Breeds Prompts Xoloitzcuintli Mexican Hairless Pride

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Westminster Dog Show 2012 new breeds announced today prompted a Mexican hairless dog addition. Xoloitzcuintli is among the Westminster Dog Show 2012 six new breeds introduced into competition today. The other five new breeds are Entlebucher mountain dog, the Norwegian Lundehund, the American English coonhound, the Finnish Lapphund, and the Cesky terrier.

The Xoloitzcuintli was previously known as Mexican Hairless. It has long dominated history and news as the national dog of Mexico. Sponsored by the Xoloitzcuintli Club of America, the recognition today reportedly qualifies all three sizes of Xoloitzcuintli  for competition. The breed is descended from  Aztec times where it was dedicated as a guardian of the dead.

Also making news today is the puffin dog, the Norwegian Lundehund. It has six toes to maneuver through areas where puffins reside.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show next month will feature these six new breeds. Hosted February 13-14 at Madison Square Garden, the show will feature now one hundred eight-five total breeds, David Frei, the club’s director of communications confirms in a news statement today.

Panda Tian Tian Sweetie Becomes Female Face of 2011

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Panda Tian Tian (Sweetie) has named a Female Face of 2011. BBC says Tian Tian, a female Panda, beat out countless women to take its annual top honors. But now the publication is defending criticism for choosing an panda over a human for the award.

The BBC annual title does not recognize Top Woman of 2011. Rather it honors the Top Female Face of the 2011, BBC reminds news. The publication determined that the Panda should hold the top honors with Pippa Middleton. Other females to make the list are Charlene Wittstock and the Duchess of Alba, 85.

The Panda is currently on loan from China to the Edinburgh Zoo. Yet, former deputy Prime Minister John Prescott is furious that the publication couldn’t find a woman to take the honor and filled it with an animal. Others think it’s just a light hearted approach to the recognition that some people are taking too seriously.

BBC, however, is defending the recognition. It tells news that Sweetie (photo HERE) is not the first animal to take the honor. “In 2009, Benson the Carp, a much-caught giant fish, was August’s entry on the male list and last year Peppa the Pig was on the female list for April.”
