Adam Lambert Controversy YouTube!

Adam Lambert Controversy YouTube

VIDEO! UPDATE #4- Here is the Adam Lambert AMA YouTube performance video, now the Adam Lambert “Controversy” video?

While controversy now over Adam Lambert’s AMA YouTube video of For Your Entertainment is still burning, the question is – was the original AMA video controversial to begin with at all?

Adam Lambert’s original AMA YouTube video had multiple issues at stake. But were any of them, then, really controversial?

Now since the conduct of ABC’s GMA (cancellation of Lambert’s appearance) and CBS’s Early Show (showing the Madonna Britney Spears kiss but not the Lambert male kiss), have the issues changed?

LALATE was the first to break the video on Sunday evening. At that point the video had really only two issues.

First, was the staging distracting from Lambert’s vocal talent? Did the staging overshadow Lambert’s enormous talent preventing perfect vocals to come through amid less than perfect dance routines?

Second, was the staging too much for TV family audiences, even if it appeared at 11 pm?

Those were the key issues on Sunday. Suddenly – courtesy of GMA and Early Show’s involvement – the issue switched Wednesday to whether Britney kissing Madonna is any different that Lambert kissing a male musician?

On Wednesday morning, Lambert went on CBS’ Early Morning Show. Lambert told the Early Show of his AMA performance:

“I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it. I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it.”

Lambert says the criticism he received was unjust. Lambert said Jackson grabbed a particular “item” in his performance. “I haven’t heard one peep about that…. [I]f it had been a female pop performer doing (his) moves that were on the stage, I don’t think there would be nearly as much of an outrage.”

And Lambert added this : “I think it’s because I’m a gay male.”

In advance of the CBS interview, LALATE readers were divided about the AMA performance, many feeling the vocals were overshadowed by the staging, irrespective of the subject matter of the dance routine.

“Wow Adam Lambert is one of the most gutsy performers I have ever seen. I loved his performance. Kudos to the choreographer who came up with that routine. The AMAs have always shown progressive and controversial performances but this year AdamLambert’s song topped them all. That was so hot, so close and unexpected and I know even the performers who were grabbing themselves in their own songs were like…”No He Didn’t”! That’s right he did! It was hot! This is our music of tomorrow folks and it so reflects society today. Go to any night club and you see girl on girl, guy on guy and etc. Adam was just showing folks what is out there and he did it to his song perfectly.Loved the high notes. Adam is fierce, sexy, bold and yes everyone will talk about this tomorrow! I can’t wait to see him on Ellen!”

“I was an Adam Lambert fan, but after seeing his classless demonstration … I no longer have any desire to listen to him as an individual. He had a chance to be respected for his talent, instead, he chose to impress those who are more interested in whatever it was he was trying to prove. BTW, I lost respect for Madonna and Brittany for their lame attempt at getting attention. … This wasn’t cable. Adam knew this. In our time zone, kids could have still been up. I cared about Adam based on what I saw on American idol, now that I know he doesn’t care about what’s important to me, I have no interest in defending him.”

“I too was a big fan of Adam Lambert. But that performance on AMA was way too over the top. He came across like a freak instead of a unique talent. What a waste. Let’s hope he decides to go for the music instead of the shock value.”

What do you think?

Adam Lambert AMA YouTube

VIDEO! UPDATE #2- While some contend YouTube video of Adam Lambert’s AMA performance still is spreading viral, Adam Lambert’s AMA YouTube video of For Your Entertainment has now formulated two fronts.

Adam Lambert’s AMA YouTube video was broke first by LALATE late Sunday evening. Since then, it has become the most discussed and viewed awards show clips of the year here, with over 1 million readers drawn to the story and its updates since Sunday.

But does it still maintain that viral force now Wednesday?

In fact the biggest entertainment controversy on Wednesday has nothing to do with the AMAs. Rather it isthe shocking win of Donny Osmond over Mya on the season finale of Dancing with the Stars.

Why the difference?

By now viewers have not only seen Lambert’s AMA performance, heard his no apology position, but also formulated their position of support or disgust. Much of the decisions have rested on whether viewers feel they singer’s talent was shadowed by a publicity seeking routine, or whether this was just decent staging that didn’t accentuate Lambert’s vocals as well as it should have.

On Wednesday morning, Lambert went on CBS’ Early Morning Show. Now three days later, how are fan reactions to Lambert?

“I was a huge fan of Adam Lambert and couldn’t wait to buy his CD. What he did on AMA sickened me. I thought he had so much class but I was wrong. I don’t care that he’s gay but you don’t rub your sexuality in other people’s faces! I no longer have any desire to support him. What a shame. “

“I think Adam’s performance on the AMA’s was GLAMTASTIC!! Loved it!!. there are people out there that are afraid of their sexual side – I for one – love to express that side – Get with it – Adam has arrived – just embrace him and love him. We need his Love in this crazy world.”

“The early show performance was great. I love his presence and his voice. He has stolen my heart – It’s Adam 24/7 – no escaping when he starts, once he’s in he owns my heart, so I’ll hold on till it’s over.”

“Spot-on interview. Thanks to CBS. Loved Adam’s genuine thoughts and opinions. … Adam is an amazing singer/performer. I’d like to hear your emphasis on your vocals. By the way, you look amazing!”

Lambert told the Early Show of his AMA performance:

Adam Lambert AMA YouTube

VIDEO! UPDATE #1- How have viewers reacted to this YouTube video of Adam Lambert’s AMA performance? Has Adam Lambert’s AMA YouTube video of For Your Entertainment become a hit or a miss among fans?

Here is the latest on the AMA performance.

First, Adam Lambet’s AMA video has become the most visited awards show performance video on LALATE in 2009. Even more interesting, the video, first profiled late Sunday night, is as talked about now on Wednesday as it was on Sunday.

The reason for its popularity? Is it the controversy over the video, or is it the love of Adam? Or do fans feel a label has taken an incredible talent and paired him with staging that prevented them from seeing this talent truly shine?

One comment says the performance reflects today’s reality and is true to anything you would see in a nightclub.

It was hot! Adam is fierce, sexy, bold and yes everyone will talk about this tomorrow! I can’t wait to see him on Ellen!”

Some simply loved it while others found it a horrible miss.

“I believe Adam will illicit the response he expected… Loved it!… Soooo “over the top” and you sure entertained me… ROCK ON!”

“Adam Lambert is great. Love the music. Loved your AMA performance.”

“Now we know for sure – the correct person DID actually win American Idol after all… there’s absolutely nothing to idolize here!”

But many felt they wanted to see Adam’s talent, and because of the staging, that’s not what they saw.

“I was an Adam Lambert fan, but after seeing his classless demonstration … I no longer have any desire to listen to him as an individual. He had a chance to be respected for his talent, instead, he chose to impress those who are more interested in whatever it was he was trying to prove. “I too was a big fan of Adam Lambert. But that performance on AMA was way too over the top. He came across like a freak instead of a unique talent. What a waste. Let’s hope he decides to go for the music instead of the shock value.”

The bottom line is Adam’s fans adore his talent and wanted to hear it.  Did this performance achieve that?

JLo Falls on Stage Jennifer Lopez Fall YouTube!

Jennifer Lopez AMA 2009 YouTube

VIDEO! Here again is that youtube video as JLo falls on stage at the 2009 AMA. Jennifer Lopez’s American Music Awards (AMAs) fall came during her performance of her new song Louboutins. Lopez recovered so fast that many weren’t sure if she even fell.

While some disagree still Monday if JLo fell or didn’t, one thing is for certain. Lopez’s several year old decision to not be referred to as “JLo” isn’t working. More people Monday are hunting for the JLo, not Jennifer Lopez, fall video.

Whether she fell or didn’t, his dance routine took the house down.
