LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Alexandra “Sasha” McHale is dead at age 22. Alexandra “Sasha” McHale died Saturday November 24, 2012 after battling lupus. No official cause of death for Sasha McHale (photos below) has yet to be released to news. Today she is being remembered by the Houston Rockets organization. Sasha McHale played high school basketball at Totino-Grace. She is the daughter of Houston Rockets coach and vice president Kevin McHale.
Kevin McHale has been on a leave of absence in recent days. McHale had only said at the time that he wanted to deal with “personal family matters”. Kelvin Sampson has been the team’s interim coach.
Rockets Team owner Leslie Alexander said in a news statement today that he has offered his “deepest condolences” over Kevin’s loss of a “beautiful daughter.” Alexander said that Kevin McHale and wife Lynn McHale are “loving and dedicated parents who will need our continued support throughout this very difficult time.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor issued a news statement Sunday as well. “While Kevin was with our organization, we all watched Sasha grow up, and become an outstanding young woman. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin, Lynn and the entire McHale family.” He added “On behalf of the entire Minnesota Timberwolves organization, we are extremely saddened to learn about the passing of Sasha”.
Alexander said the “entire [Rockets] organization is mourning.” Funeral arrangements have not been announced to news. Send your love.
