Adam Sandler Thanksgiving Song aka Turkey Song Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Adam Sandler Thanksgiving Song aka Turkey Song Celebrates 20th Anniversary snl saturday night live

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler’s “The Thanksgiving Song” aka the Turkey Song from SNL celebrates its twentieth anniversary tonight. On November 21, 1992, Adam Sandler first performed his turkey song during season 18 of Saturday Night Live. At the time, Kevin Nealon told viewers that a new tradition was being born. However, the tradition lived on far differently than SNL producers originally expected.

Twenty years ago this evening, Nealon told Weekend Update viewers that “tonight we start with what we hope will be a Weekend Update tradition.” He added “Every Thanksgiving from now a different SNL performer will compose and perform an original song to commemorate the holiday.”

Nealon also told news “We couldn’t think of another person to begin this tradition than our Adam Sandler.” Sandler told viewers “I hope you will be a bit entertained and moved.”

The following year, Sandler confirmed news that he would record the song during a performance in Southern California. The song was later released on the album “They’re All Gonna Laugh at You”. The song – written by Sandler, Ian Maxtone-Graham and Robert Smigel – was followed up two years later by the Chanukah Song, authored by Sandler, Maxtone-Graham and Lewis Morton.

Adam Sandler Not Dead – False Snowboard Death Story Resurfaces

Adam Sandler Not Dead False Snowboard Death Story Resurfaces

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler is not dead. A false Adam Sandler death report that surfaced online last year is striking again today. The fabricated RIP tale claims that Adam Sandler died this November 2012 in a snowboarding accident in Zermatt. Sandler hasn’t been snowboarding, isn’t in Zermatt, and is very much alive like John Cena and Morgan Freeman.

Adam Sandler fake death reports bare a stark difference to those striking other celebrities. Most celebrities are now currently the victim of multiple fake death claims. For example, Lil Wayne on any given day is being killed off in more than a handful of fake death tales. John Cena, in turn, is consistently victimized by fake RIP John Cena Facebook page.

But for Adam Sandler, a snowboard always seems involved. And yet, Sandler still does have a similarity with Morgan Freeman and Jackie Chan. He too has his own fake “RIP Adam Sandler” Facebook pages.

One account called “RIP Adam Sandler” has seventy thousand “friends” but adds “He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the internet.” Another lists Sandler’s false death as June of last year.

The culprit behind the Sandler death today, yet again, is Global Associated aka Media Fetcher. “The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends” reads the fake report. “Witnesses indicate that Adam Sandler lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed” adds the false tale.

If Global’s report sounds familiar, it should. It’s been used against countless film celebrities in the last two year. Denzel Washington battled the same report in August, David Spade faced it in June, and Arnold Schwarzenegger had it in March. As LALATE reported at the time, “the website Global Associated has killed off Adam Sandler to Eddie Murphy in fake death reports about Zermatt.”

Global’s false Arnold report read that Arnold was “at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends”. Global said of Spade “David Spade was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital; however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash.” Adam Sandler is alive along with Spade, Washington, and Schwarzenegger.

Adam Sandler Not Dead – Fake Death Strikes That’s My Boy Star

Adam Sandler Not Dead - Fake Death Strikes That's My Boy Star

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler is not dead in a snowboarding accident today. A fake Adam Sandler death report surfaced online in 2011 when Sandler’s then latest film Jack and Jill hit movie theatres. Now that same report is surfacing online today as Sandler’s latest film That’s My Boy hits malls this weekend.

Since 2011, Adam Sandler’s false death reports appear to follow his film releases. Each time that Sandler releases a film, someone appears to author another fabricated death report about the actor. In fact, the false reports generally strike the debut weekend of Sandler’s films.Sandler’s case, however, is relatively novel. Most fake celebrity death reports this year have generally struck when the actor or singer was away from their social media accounts for several days.

Sandler, however, is not the only celebrity to be a victim of fabricated tales this weekend. On Friday, Wiz Khalifa battled the same false car accident story. The culprit was Global Associated. Global’s report claimed “Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.” The report should sound familiar; it’s been used before against DJ Tiesto and against David Guetta.

For Sandler, the latest fabricated claim is, yet again, a snowboarding accident, from Global Associated. “The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Adam Sandler lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.”

The same report has been used against Charlie Sheen as well. The image of the “dead” person is the same for Sandler as for Sheen and everyone else that G.A. uses. And if you read that someone perished hiking Australian cliffs, (Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and George Clooney), it’s false as well.

Adam Sandler Not Dead – 2011 Fake Snowboarding Death Story Anger Fans

Adam Sandler Not Dead - 2011 Fake Snowboarding Death Story Anger Fans

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler is not dead, but on Wednesday night, fake snowboarding death reports began to resurface. Adam Sandler hasn’t died in a skiing or snowboarding accident; but in March and July 2011, Sandler fans battled death stories that were both false and misleading. On Wednesday night LALATE saw heightened activity on Twitter once again about fans asking if Sandler had died. The activity started hours after news of Steve Jobs’ death. But by Thursday morning, the Sandler confusion slowed down. Tonight, Adam Sander fake death reports are swirling uncontrollably once again.

Unfortunately, the Adam Sandler fake death reports from March and July 2011 still remain online. In the months that have followed, fans have sporadically tweeted, roughly once per day, if the those July reports were accurate. But for still unexplained reasons, last night, Adam Sandler death reports spiked up. By Thursday morning, they had settled down.

But now, on the evening of October 6, 2011, questions if Adam Sandler has died are reaching levels arguably higher than the July confusion. A quick perusal online shows that roughly thirty tweets asking whether Sandler has died have been posted to Twitter within roughly the last half hour.

What is the cause of the latest confusion? It appears to be the same March report, still online. One reader posted at 4 pm PST tonight wrote that “my dad just told me that Adam Sandler died in a snowboarding accident.” In March 2011, a fake death report claimed Sandler had died of a snowboarding accident. Another person questioned the same report this evening. “Anyone hear anything about Adam Sandler being dead in a snowboarding accident?” Strangely, some tweets seem to even embellish the previously erroneous report. “He ran into a tree while he was snowboarding”. Even the original fake death report didn’t mention a tree.

The bottom line is that Adam Sandler didn’t die in a snowboarding or ski accident in March 2011 or this week of October 2011. In fact, Sandler is the victim of an out of control fabricated template used to kill off hip-hop artists, movie actors, and even sports stars.

In March 2011 Sandler was falsely reported dead from a snowboarding accident in Zermatt. That same month, Jim Carrey suffered the same fake fate. The year before, it was Russell Crowe. The location of the fake death stories (involving snow) are always Zermatt or the mysterious “Kitzbühel, Austria, in the Hahnenkamm mountain between Hahnenkamm (5616 ft., 1712 m) and Kitzbühler Horn (6548 ft., 1996 m)”. The cause of the fake snow death is either skiing or snowboarding.

“Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today – March 16, 2011? read the fake death report in March. Then in July, Sandler was listed dead, just on a different mountain. “The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that [he] lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.”

And yet, not all fake celebrity death stories involve snow and cold places. Some celebrities are killed off falling in warm places, some erroneously perish hiking (Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and George Clooney). But Adam Sandler wasn’t snowboarding, wasn’t skiing, and didn’t die, in March, July, or this week.

Adam Sandler Three Men and a Baby Remake is False

Adam Sandler Three Men and a Baby Remake is False

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Is there a “maybe” that Adam Sandler will do a remake of “Three Men and a Baby”? A report today claimed that Adam Sandler wants to remake “Three Men and a Baby”. The news came after Tom Selleck confirmed that Disney wanted to revamp the classic 1980s comedy with Selleck returning to his role. But today, Sandler’s rep told news that he is not attached to the project.

Selleck confirmed in fall in 2010 that Disney is interested in updating the film that featured him, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson. But on Monday, a new report claimed that Sandler is now hoping to produce the project; the report claimed that Adam would recast the three roles with Chris Rock, Rob Schneider and David Spade.

But Sandler’s rep has since confirmed that news to be false. In a news statement midday Monday, Sandler’s rep said Adam is not involved with the project. This is the second false report about Sandler in less than three days. As previously detailed here, Sandler was the subject of new 2011 fake death report on Friday. The fabricated report claimed Sandler had died of a snowboarding accident.

So could there still be hope for Disney doing a remake with the original cast? The studio has yet to comment.

Adam Sandler Fake Death Reports Fueled by Site Claiming Celebrities have Died

Adam Sandler Fake Death Reports Fueled by Site Claiming Celebrities have Died

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler is not dead; reports of an Adam Sandler death today July 29, 2011 are completely fabricated. But a quick perusal of one website, “Global Associated News”, reveals that it has posted, not just a work of fiction about Sandler’s fake death today, but also about other celebrities, consistently in recent weeks.

“Actor Adam Sandler Dies in Snowboard Accident” read the false article on the Global Associated News website today. The article, apparently, had some believers. The Sandler fake death story got fifteen thousand Facebook likes by 3 pm PST today. “Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today July 29, 2011″ claimed the article which states “this story is developing”.

The story isn’t developing. It’s fabricated. The story claims that Sandler died of a snowboarding accident at the Zermatt ski resort in Switzerland.

How ironic. Global Associated News reported that the Jim Carey, Christian Slater, and Eddie Murphy also died in snowboarding accidents this year (which they didn’t) all at the Zermatt ski resort. Of the four actors, Sandler’s fake death has been the most popular with Murphy’s death drawing the least interest with five thousand Facebook shares.

A cache of the Global Associated News website reveals that the date stamp at the beginning of each article dynamically changes itself to today’s date, even if the story was published weeks ago.

But not all actors die of fake deaths in Zermatt on Global Associated News. The website listed Tom Hanks falling to his death in New Zealand. His  fate was on the famed Kauri Cliffs. And yes, if you are wondering, Global Associated News wrote that Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and George Clooney have all suffered the same fate of fiction on the Kauri Cliffs.
