
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A massive Argentina earthquake today 2013 has struck the country. The terremoto en Argentina hoy, a temblor registering 6.1 magnitude, erupted roughly two hours ago. No reports of damage have yet to be detailed by local news.
Today’s Argentina earthquake had a substantial depth, officials tell news. The quake erupted today Friday, February 22, 2013 shortly after 9 am local time. But it began roughly three hundred miles below ground level.
Officials indicate to news that the quake was seventeen miles east of Suncho Corral. The quake was forty-one miles northwest of Anatuya and forty-eight miles west of Quimili. The quake also began sixty-eight miles east of Santiago del Estero.
Today’s quake is near the May temblor of last year. That Argentina quake struck the Santiago del Estero region as well. The quake was thirty-two miles northwest of Anatuya. USGS also reported that the quake roughly one hundred fifty miles southeast of San Miguel de Tucuman. The quake was also approximately five hundred miles northwest of Buenos Aires.
In June, another quake was forty-six miles west of San Antonio de los Cobres. The quake also began roughly one hundred miles west of Salta and one hundred ten miles west of San Salvador de Jujuy. The tembor began roughly five hundred miles south of La Paz, Bolivia, officials told news at the time.
