ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Ben Roethlisberger apologized to Todd Hanley and Mike Tomlin for his comments last Sunday. Roethlisberger told news that he apologized swiftly on Monday to Coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. At issue were his remarks after the Steelers’ loss to the Cowboys Sunday.
In a news statement, Big Ben confirmed the apology. “I apologized for the storm it created..and caused.” On Sunday, Roethlisberger told news “This is the offense. This is what we’ve been doing all year and it’s time to take a hard look at it because it’s not working.” He further fumed “I don’t understand the philosophy of a fumbling-based offense, I really don’t. Is it supposed to keep the defense on their toes? Are we supposed to fumble the ball forward? Or to a teammate who will be wide open to scoop it up and run for big yardage? These are things that were never worked out.”

Roethlisberger said Tuesday that his comments were wrong. “There are going to be times when you just don’t see eye-to-eye”. He added “There are times when I don’t see eye-to-eye with Coach Tomlin. But that doesn’t mean anything, I don’t think.” He further explained to news that he “let my frustrations jump out after a game, I don’t usually do that. Usually, I keep it under control. I was just frustrated with myself and I’ll be better at that.”

He told the Tribune Review news “I actually came in [Monday] and apologized to Todd, apologized to Mike, apologized to [the owner] Mr. [Dan] Rooney just because I did let my frustrations jump out after a game”. He added “I don‘t usually do that, I usually keep it under control, [it was] just frustrations on myself. I‘ll be better at that.”
