LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – American Idol 2014 results tonight prompted elimination predictions for Thursday April 17, 2014 and your Top 6. Who will get eliminated on American Idol results for 4/17/14, which singers will get sent home after tonight and not reach the Top 6, and will there be another surprise? American Idol 2014 results this season have not followed the trend of previous seasons. In those years, the judges’ “save” was used for a singer in clear contention to win the season. But this season on American Idol 2014, the judges didn’t do that. Rather they used it on Sam Woolf who had visited the bottom three more than any other competitor then, and still now. Last week, however, Sam Woolf improved and he didn’t land in jeopardy. So did that change tonight, and will Sam Woolf get the American Idol elimination for Thursday?
American Idol 2014 results tonight featured Sam Woolf singing “Sail Away” by David Gray. Harry had lackluster reviews. He said that Sam is still improving but that the song was not right for him. Jennifer said that she felt the song. And Keith remarked that Sam is still improving. But is “improving” enough to reach Top 6?
Also performing tonight was Jena Irene with “Creep” by Radiohead . The performance blew the judges away. Keith said he “loved it”. Harry called her a “phenomenal talent” and Jennifer agreed. Then Alex Preston sang “A Team” by Ed Sheeran. All three judges loved it, and loved the song for Alex.
Another singer often in jeopardy this season has been Dexter. Tonight Dexter Roberts sang “Muckalee Creek Water” by Luke Bryan . Harry called it predictable. Jennifer liked the edge. And Keith thought it was good but the melody was a bit off.
One singer that most thought would be eliminated last week was CJ. Tonight CJ Harris sang “Gravity” by John Mayer. Harry said that CJ has the best connection with the audience of any other contestant. Jennifer said that CJ is getting more comfortable. Keith said he enjoyed it.
Jessica Meuse sang “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda Lambert. And the judges hated it. Keith said it lacked energy. Jennifer called it unnatural. And Harry said the rhythm was off. Finally, Caleb Johnson sang “Family Tree” by Kings of Leon and all three judges loved it. Harry said that the song was perfect for him, and all two other judges agreed.
