ST LOUIS (LALATE) – PSG vs. Chelsea 2014 (en vivo live score results below) heads to the field in their first leg of the UEFA Champions League results today. The soccer match kicks off quarterfinals action for both teams. The first leg is today April 2, 2014. The second leg is next week.

Today’s PSG vs. Chelsea 2014 soccer game (start time 11:45 am PST) features two teams with contrasting recent results. PSG has five wins in their last five games. Chelsea in turn has three wins, two losses, in their last five matches. In Ligue 1 Table standings, PSG is holding a first place ranking by thirteen points. In the EPL Table 2014 rankings latest update, Chelsea is in second with sixty-nine points, just two points out of first position now held by Liverpool.

Chelsea’s last UCL game was that 2-0 win over Galatasaray. Since then the team has stunned news with that 6-0 win over Arsenal but has been beat by Crystal Palace.

But Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused comment when asked who would be his starting lineup for today. He tells his team’s news site this week that PSG is the favorite. “It’s a team full of fantastic strikers and goal scorers and that is what really makes the difference in this level.”

Mourinho also told news this week that the top eight are being driven by great players. “You look to the teams in the top eight at this moment, all of them good teams, good structures, with a certain philosophy, but after that you go and you see (Barcelona’s Lionel) Messi, (Real Madrid’s Cristiano) Ronaldo, (Borussia Dortmund’s Robert) Lewandowski, Diego Costa, Ibrahimovic, (Edison) Cavani, (Ezequiel) Lavezzi.” He added “They (PSG) have lots of them. At this level it’s a very important part of a team.”

Meantime, Chelsa’s C├ęsar Azpilicueta, when asked if he would play told news this week, told his team’s news site “I want to play. Yesterday was a beautiful day for me.” He added “But now I know that my two girls are okay and I came with my head clean to train today, to play tomorrow and to get back with a good result so everyone will be happy.” For live score results today click HERE and for all other Champions League results this week click HERE.
