ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A new Missouri tornado warning 2014 today has been extended for Miller and Morgan counties tonight March 27, 2014. Meantime, Jameson tornado damage is being reported. Additionally, Grundy and Daviess counties in Missouri are reporting damage tonight.
First, the National Weather Service in Springfield tell news that the Lake of the Ozarks is included in their latest alert. “The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Tornado Warning for northern Miller County in central Missouri east central Morgan County in central Missouri”. The warning will be in place “until 545 PM CDT”, reps tell news.
The alert escalated just after 5 pm local time today. Officials indicate that “at 516 PM CDT… a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles west of Eldon”. The system was moving quickly namely “east at 50 mph”. Tonight the concerns include a possible “tornado and ping pong Ball size hail.”
The alert was issued after “weather spotters reported funnel cloud” activity in the area. Meantime, the locations possibly impacted tonight “include Aurora Springs, Barnett, Eldon, Etterville, Marys Home and Olean.” Officials added that “this warning also includes Lake of The Ozarks.”
