ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Hull City vs. Newcastle United 2014 (live score results below) heads to the field in roughly one hour for now. The soccer game is one of several early matches dominating the EPL Table today. But which squad will advance in the latest English Premier League Table standings today?
Saturday’s Hull City vs. Newcastle United 2014 game (start time 7 am PST) features number eight Newcastle taking on the eleventh ranked squad on the EPL Table, Hull City, this morning March 1, 2014. But while there are only two teams ranked between these squads, Newcastle had ten more points than Hull City. Newcastle, moreover, is currently only ten points south of fifth place in the EPL Table. Hull City has three wins, one draw and one loss in their last five matches. Newcastle in turn has three losses, one draw and one win in their last five matches.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew this week spoke about the importance of Cheick Tiote. “He is an important player to us, and the captaincy when Colo (Fabricio Coloccini) was out changed him a little bit.” Pardew added “He knows now that in my mind, he is our vice-captain and he has to play the role that that involves. It’s a big club, so he has a lot of responsibility and he’s dealing with it very well. In fact, it’s spurred him on.”
But when asked about Hull Manager Steve Bruce, Pardew had this to say to his team’s website this week. “With my League Managers’ Association hat on, I have to say that Steve Bruce, up until this point, is probably manager of the year, although he’s got another 11 games to see that over the line. But what he did last year with 10 games to go to get them promoted, and to get them into the position they have been in is a fantastic achievement, and he and his staff can be very proud of what they have done.”
Meantime Hull manager Steve Bruce spoke this week about the impact that Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long have had this year. “I’d love to say it’s all in the training but they’re two very good players playing together. There’s a lot said about coaching but a good player is a good player and in management the more of them you’ve got the easier it becomes. They came in at just the right time and all of a sudden we’re a different animal up front.” Bruce added “We’re delighted we’ve got them and I think they’re a terrific partnership. That’s what you invest in, they give you that little something you’d didn’t have before.” For live score results today click HERE. For the latest EPL Table click HERE.
