ST LOUIS (LALATE) – An Oklahoma earthquake today 2014 has hit moments ago west of Medford. The Oklahoma earthquake today February 12, 2014 started within the last half hour and was located near the Kansas border.
USGS indicates to news that a 3.3 magnitude Oklahoma earthquake today started three miles below ground level just after 6:41 am local time. Because of its shallow depth, the quake impacted the immediate vicinity around the epicenter.
Officials tell news that the quake was eleven miles west of Medford. It was thirty-seven miles north of Enid and roughly forty-five miles west of Ponca City. It also started forty-six miles west of Arkansas City, Kansas .
Several Oklahoma earthquakes have been striking the same region in recent weeks. In December, one quake started sixteen miles south of McCord. The quake was seventeen miles south of Ponca City and twenty-three miles north of Stillwater. The quake was also forty-two miles south of Arkansas City, Kansas and seven two miles from Oklahoma City.
As well, in November a 3.0 magnitude quake struck west of Tulsa and Bixby. And in January last year a comparable quake began five miles north west of Jones. The quake was six miles east of Edmond and nine miles northwest of Choctaw.
