LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – CHAN results 2014 for the African Nations Championship heads into two more soccer games tomorrow, Zimbabwe vs. Uganda and Burkina Faso vs. Morocco. The latest CHAN results 2014 revealed an early point elimination one of team from the standings. But could another team be in trouble tomorrow as well?
CHAN results 2014 for group round games continue through Sunday. The CHAN schedule features two games per day until January 19, 2014. But based upon current CHAN scores, one team is already out of contention: Mozambique. Even though Mozambique has one more game to play, its two losses have automatically eliminated it from qualification to the next stage.
The CHAN configuration of standings features four groups, A to D. As previously reported on LALATE, two wins by a team should likely send it automatically to the next stage while two losses by a team should likely send it home. That has now happened for Mozambique.
In Group A, South Africa and Mali are currently in first place with four points. But Nigeria is close behind with three points. In Group B, Uganda has a larger lead with three points. Morocco and Zimbabwe have one point. Burkina Faso has one loss. Another loss could possibly send them home.
In Group C, the same situation is for Congo and Ethiopia. They both got beat in their first game. So another loss for either of them could possibly send them home. Meantime, Libya and Ghana are in first place with three points. Finally in Group D, Congo DR has three points, Burundi and Gabo have one, and Mauritania has no points.
