Kenya Moore Father Ronald Grant Addresses Mother Patricia Moore

LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Kenya Moore’s father Ronald Grant opens up about Kenya Moore’s mother Patricia Moore. Who is Kenya Moore’s mother, who gave the RHOA star her name “Kenya”, what happened to Kenya Moore as a baby, who raised the RHOA star, and what happened between Kenya’s father and her mother? LALATE can report that, while RHOA will discuss these and more subjects next Sunday, many of the details were covered in 1993. At the time, Kenya Moore had won the Miss USA competition and was heading into the Miss Universe competition. News reporters were seeking to learn facets about her birth, her upbringing, and her relationship with her mother.

Next Sunday, Ronald Grant from Texas is all ready for Kenya and her hardwood floors. “Whose taste is this? I don’t have to like them. Do you like hardwood floors? I hate them!” He then says “you sound like a real estate agent. So tell me about this chain rail. Whose idea was this?” Kenya tell RHOA viewers “My mom and dad had me in the 1970s. To have a child out of wedlock at the time was a huge stigma, especially in the black community.”

Ronald says that Patricia before Kenya’s birth “swore a vow. You tell nobody. I tell nobody.” Ronald Grant says he told Patricia Moore “how in the world do you think that that is going to work?” He added “I said Amen, I am not going to have no part of that.”

Despite what is shown on RHOA next Sunday, LALATE can report that details about Ronald Grant, Patricia Moore and Kenya Moore were covered extensively during a 1993 interview between the Moores, Grants, and other family members.

PEOPLE in interviewing family members claimed that Ronald Grant and Patricia Moore were both 16 years old at the time that Kenya was born. Patricia’s father owned a construction company. Patricia’s mother owned a clothing store, claimed PEOPLE. After Patricia became pregnant, her parents were allegedly unhappy and sent her to live with her sister Lori Moore at Central Michigan University.

According to the article, Patricia then asked Ronald permission to give the unnamed child up for adoption. Ronald refused and had his mother Doris Grant agree to raise the child. According to the article, Patricia refused to name the child; Lori allegedly gave the RHOA star her name “Kenya” in reference to the country because “she was dark and beautiful.”

In the article, Patricia told news that she allegedly called Kenya after the Miss USA win and before the Miss Universe competition to offer support. “I’m praying for her,” Patricia claimed to have told news at the time.

I feel badly for Kenya. She is the innocent here. Her current behavior is clearly influenced by her lack of love from her parents during childhood. That goes deep. I hope she is able to come to terms with it, find peace, somehow, someday.
