ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Clemson vs. Ohio State 2013 are heading to the Discover Orange Bowl. Tonight Bowl officials confirmed to news that they have invited the two schools. The game will kick off on January 3, 2014. Start time is still undetermined. The game will air on ESPN and will be played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
The Clemson vs. Ohio State 2013 game was of the latest bowl games to be announced today. It is also one of only two bowl games that plays just days before the National Championship on January 6.
Clemson ended the season ranked twelve in the BCS. Ohio Sate in turn ended in seventh place. Ohio State’s hopes of playing in the national championship were dashed during that stunning loss to Michigan State, final score 24-34.
Braxton Miller struggled with passing in that game. He had two touchdown passes, one interception. He passed for one hundred thirty-three yards, completing six of fifteen attempts. Miller in turn had three rushing touchdowns. He delivered one hundred fifty-three yards on sixteen carries.
Hyde led team rushing with two hundred twenty-six yards on twenty-seven carries, producing one touchdown. Heuerman had one touchdown in two catches, producing fifty-nine yards.
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer called the game an “instant classic”. He added “I have such great respect for this rivalry. Coach Hayes was from a different generation.
