LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A California earthquake today 2013 has struck near China Lake Acres and Ridgecrest. The California earthquake today November 22, 2013 began within the hour. It posted almost no depth however.
Officials tell news that a 2.7 magnitude California earthquake today started just after 1:53 pm PST today. The quake however struck close to the earth’s surface. USGS indicates to news that the quake started only one mile below ground level. As are result the quake could be felt across the immediate region.
USGS indicates to news that the California earthquake started twenty-six miles north of China Lake Acres. The quake was twenty-eighty miles north of Ridgecrest, California and sixty-three miles northeast of California City, California. The quake started seventy miles east of Porterville, California and two hundred forty-two miles southeast of Carson City, Nevada.
The same region has produced other quakes this year. In August another quake struck twelve miles south of Weldon. The quake was twenty-five miles northeast of Tehachapi and twenty-nine miles northwest of California City. The quake also started thirty-five miles west of Ridgecrest. USGS at the time told news that the quake was northwest of Arvin, east of Bakersfield and south of Porterville. It began roughly three hundred miles from Carson City, Nevada.
