Officials tell news that a 6.3 magnitude Indonesia earthquake today 2013 began just after 10:32 PM local time. The quake had a moderate depth however. Officials tell news that the quake was forty miles below sea level. As a result the quake was felt across the immediate vicinity.
USGS indicates to news that the Indonesia earthquake today began sixty-eight miles north of Tobelo. The quake was one hundred forty-four miles form Ternate and one hundred forty-seven miles from Kota Ternate. Reps tell news that the quake was roughly two hundred miles east of Bitung and roughly five hundred mils from Koror Town, Palau.
The nation has been hit by several quakes this year. In October a 5.4 magnitude quake began ninety-four miles west of Abepura and one hundred one miles west of Jayapura. The quake was only one hundred forty-four miles west of Vanimo, Papua New Guiena. It was roughly three hundred miles from Nabire in Indonesia and seven hundred miles from Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea, reps told news at the time.
In June a 5.2 magnitude Indonesia earthquake started one hundred eleven miles west of Abepura. The quake was roughly one hundred twenty miles west of Jayapura and one hundred fifty miles west of Papua New Guinea’s Vanimo. The quake was also roughly two hundred fifty miles north of Kiunga as well. That same month a 6.1 magnitude quake was forty-five miles southeast of Reudeuet and forty-six miles from Lhokseumawe.
