ST LOUIS (LALATE) – An Illinois tornado warning today 2013 is striking Morganfield, Breckinridge Center and Waverly. Moreover, an Equality, Illinois tornado was spotted moments ago.
The Illinois tornado warning today was issued within the half hour. It marks the latest in a series of warnings issued in the state this evening. The National Weather Service in Paducah issued at 8:26 PM CDT on October 31, 2013 a tornado warning for southern Gallatin County in southern Illinois, north central Hardin County in southern Illinois, and central Union County in northwest Kentucky.
Reps tell news the warning will remain in place “until 900 PM CDT”. They add that “at 823 PM CDT a confirmed tornado was located 8 miles south of Equality.” The Equality tornado is moving swiftly. Reps tell news that the storm is “moving east at 60 mph.”
They report that this could be a possibly “damaging tornado.” The tornado moreover has been confirmed by “weather spotters” tonight. They add that “Locations impacted include Morganfield… Breckinridge center and Waverly.”
Meantime a watch is in place in other counties. Earlier today Weather Underground tweeted “Tornado Warning for Johnson, Massac and Pope Counties in IL until 8:30 PM CDT”. Those warnings have been changed to watches. For continued coverage of this and other tornado activity tonight click HERE.
