ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The new AP Top 25 College Football rankings today are prompting anticipation of the debut BCS Standings 2013 live announcement tonight October 20, 2013. AP Top 25 college football rankings for Week 9 10-20-13 were released this morning. Also released were the USA Today Poll football rankings for Week 9. But tonight, the BCS Standings telecast will head to ESPN.
The AP Top 25 college football rankings follow several upsets Saturday in college football, as reported on LALATE at the time. Week 8 had only four and five point moves as the significant changes in rankings. Today there were nine, six, and even thirteen point moves in college football standings.
Yes, Auburn got that thirteen point move today after its incredible showing this week. The team is 6-1. It moves up from twenty-four to eleventh position . Louisville in turn plummeted. It fell from eight to eighteen, one of the worse drops of the week. Other big drops were South Carolina, falling nine points, Texas A&M plummeting seven points.
But the top ten saw huge changes. Florida State leaped two points to third position. Alabama and Oregon are still one-two. Ohio State is still fourth. But Missouri jumped nine points to fifth position. Baylor jumped six points to sixth position. Stanford leaped five positions to eight. And Texas Tech moved up six points to tenth.
