LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Truckers Strike 2013 for Washington DC dubbed “Truckers Ride For The Constitution” will kick off with a meeting today October 10, 2013 in to Gilberton, PA, organizers tell news. What happened to the truckers, is I-495 still being targeted for October 11, and what will happen to the DC Beltway this weekend? The Truckers indicate to news that, while their strike starts Friday, there is a meeting today at 5 pm EST as well.
Truckers Ride For The Constitution reports that there is a kickoff drive in Pennsylvania today. The wrote on their Facebook page Wednesday “Please send your contact info to … We will get you setup with fuel to go to Gilberton, PA town hall for Chief Kessler’s hearing at 5pm tomorrow”. Some truckers are heading to Washington DC through Pennsylvania. So organizers are planning a meet-up Thursday afternoon in Gilberton.
Meantime, the Truckers also indicate to news that the effort has now attracted more than truckers. Many fans are suggesting on Facebook that they will participate with their pickup truckers, SUVs, and even minivans. All “wheels” are encouraged to participate in the strike this weekend.
How do you register for the Trucker Protest Strike? Organizers tell news that “We have been absolutely overwhelmed with driver inquires about registration. If you are a driver, and you have not sent your contact information to the following address, you must do so immediately”. They add “anything with wheels; if you are planning to join the convoy”.
