Officials tell news that a 4.8 magnitude Japan earthquake today began just after 8:45 PM local time today. The quake was off the coast. But it posted a moderate depth. USGS indicates to news that the quake started only thirteen miles below sea level. As a result the quake could be felt on land.
USGS indicates to news that the Japan earthquake began twenty-two miles east of Nichinan. It was twenty-four miles southeast of Miyazaki-shi and thirty-three miles south of Kushima. It was thirty-four miles southeast of Takanabe and roughly five hundred miles southeast of Seoul, South Korea.
The country has been rocked by countless quakes this year. One struck the nation on April 29. That quake was only fifty-four miles east of Morioka, Honshu. USGS indicated to news that the quake was sixty-two miles southeast of Honshu town Hachinohe and roughly one hundred miles southeast of the community of Aomori. The quake was also roughly three hundred miles from Tokyo.
In May another quake struck the country. USGS indicated to news that the quake was approximately two hundred miles east of Sendai and three hundred miles northeast of Tokyo.
