LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Jackie Chan is not dead 2013 as the same culprit is striking Peyton Manning too. Jackie Chan hasn’t died this 2013 and neither has Peyton Manning. But both are the subject of fake RIP death reports today from the same culprit, on the even of Monday Night Football’s Raiders vs Broncos 2013 game.
Jackie Chan might very well set the record for being the victim of the most fake celebrity deaths in one year. But today Chan is being paired with an unlikely other victim: Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. Global Associated aka Mediafetcher has been falsely reporting celebrity deaths for years. In recent months, Mediafetcher has moved operations into falsely reporting NFL quarterbacks as injured. Today Mediafetcher is falsely reproting Manning as both injured and dead.
Mediafetcher’s fake Peyton Manning injury story today reads that a “spokesperson for the Denver highway safety authority (HSA) has confirmed that Peyton Manning has broken both of his legs in a traffic altercation. He has been transported via ambulance to a local Denver hospital for treatment”. The same fake report has been used against Drew Brees and Tom Brady. The storyline is always the same, but swaps out “Denver” for another city, and simply changes the quarterback names.
But today Mediafetcher is pushing a fake Manning death story as well. “State Highway Patrol is reporting that Pro Football Player Peyton Manning was found unresponsive in a 2012 Cadillac Escalade early this morning at a highway rest area. 911 emergency services were dispatched to the rest area where he was found and CPR was administered, but the athlete failed to regain consciousness”, reads the fabricated tale.
For Jackie Chan, Mediafetcher is attempting to confuse fans via a different continent today, Austria. The site is using a fabricated hiking accident story today. “Preliminary reports from Austrian Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 50 feet to his death in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm mountains while on-set during the filming of a movie. Specific details are not yet available.”
Jackie Chan isn’t dead nor is Eddie Murphy or Adam Sandler. Peyton Manning is fine, and the Broncos take on the Raiders tonight on Monday Night Football.
