LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Navy Yard shooting 2013 today in Washington DC still remains active. Ten persons in the NAVSEA building have now been shot. The NAVSEA building shooter remains at large. Search and rescue efforts are still underway for the victims. And officials now confirm that several victims have died.
The Washington Navy Yard shooting today September 16, 2013 began at 8:20 am EST, as reported earlier on LALATE. It commenced at Building #197 at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters, 1336 Isaac Hull Ave. in the Southeast Washington DC. Initially one person was reported inured. But now local news is indicating that ten persons are injured. The shooter is still at large. And several people are believed dead.
SWAT officials are on scene. The NAVY has established an “a shelter in place order has been issued for Navy Yard personnel”. The 11th Street Bridge is closed and neighboring roads.
