LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Eddie Murphy’s “Red Light” is the debut single off of “9″, his new album 2013. Red Light by Eddie Murphy features Snoop Lion as well (listen to the song below).
Eddie Murphy has released music before. In 1993, Murphy had an album entitled Love’s Alright. In the 1980s, he released the single Party All the Time. But now Murphy, who once sung alongside Michael Jackson, is getting back into the music business. His new album will be called “9″ and its debut single Red Light was released today.
Officials tell news that the single will get a music video as well. That will hit on September 9, 2013. Murphy’s producers have not been announced to news. But “Party All the Time” was produced by Rick James. Murphy also appeared in the music video “Remember the Time” alongside Magic Johnson. But he didn’t sing in that song.
Earlier this year, Murphy denied reports that he was dating “fellow” singer Toni Braxton. The false report originated from US Magazine which noted “in addition to first wife Nicole Mitchell, Murphy dated former Spice Girl Melanie Brown from 2006 to 2007, and exchanged marital vows with Tracey Edmonds in 2008 in a “symbolic” ceremony that was never made legal. Back in the late 1980s, Murphy was linked to another big-voiced R&B superstar: the late Whitney Houston.” Murphy told news “Toni and I are just friends. I went to her show, and we’re friends and she’s a very, very sweet girl, but we’re just friends.”
