Officials tell news that a 5.3 magnitude Philippines earthquake began just after 7:46 am local time. The quake however had a substantial depth. USGS indicates to news that the quake started eighty-five miles below sea level. As a result the quake was felt only in the immediate region.
USGS indicates to news that the Philippines earthquake began twenty-four miles east of Sarangani. The quake was thirty-nine miles southeast of Caburna and fifty-two mile southeast of Glan. The quake also started fifty-four miles southeast of Malapatan as well.
In June a quake struck off the coast as well. That quake began forty-two miles northeast of San Isidro, reps told news. The quake was also sixty miles southeast of Guiuan and eighty-one miles northeast of Suriago. Reps indicated to news that the quake was roughly eighty miles northeast of Placer and five hundred miles southeast of Manila.
Meantime, the 6.0 magnitude Bella Bella, Canada today has been followed up with a series of strong aftershocks. One has posted a 4.6 magnitude and two have been greater than 3.4 magnitude.
