ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A Texas earthquake today has struck Tipson and Henderson. The Texas earthquake today September 2, 2013 began moments ago. It follows a Missouri earthquake today and a California earthquake earlier today as well.
Officials tell news that a 4.1 magnitude Texas earthquake today struck moments ago at 4:52 PM local time. The quake however had a nominal depth. USGS indicates to news that the quake was only three miles below ground level. As a result the quake could be felt across the region.
Reps tell news that the quake was two miles west of Timpson. It was twenty-seven miles east of Henderson and forty-one mils south of Kilgore. It began roughly two hundred miles from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mapping revels that the quake was south of Marshall and Longview, east of Tyler and n north of Lufkin.
In January a quake struck the same region. The quake was east of Dallas. Mapping revealed that the quake west of Shreveport, Louisiana, northwest of Alexandria, and west of Baton Rouge. The quake was also east of Garland, north of Lufkin and northwest of Beaumont. It registered a 4.1 and began one miles west of Timpson and twenty-four miles northeast of Nacogdoches. The quake was also twenty-six miles southeast of Henderson and forty-one miles southeast of Kilgore at the time.
