LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Yosemite Fire Map 2013 for the Rim Fire in Groveland is now impacting Pine Mountain Lake. Officials tell news that the fire near but not in Yosemite has prompted an evacuation advisory for more residences in the area.
The Yosemite Fire Map 2013 today grew to sixteen thousand acres and five percent containment. The fire in the Groveland Range District, Stanislaus NF continues to be active, heading up Tuolumne River north of Lumsden Bridge and the Gravel Range, officials tell news.
In the latest update, Incident Commander David Cooper released an Advisory Evacuation for Pine Mountain Lake. Cooper told news “An Advisory Evacuation has been issued to the following areas: San Jose Family Camp, Yosemite Riverside Inn, Spinning Wheel, Rainbow Pool, Buck Meadow, Yosemite Vista Estates”. The advisory also covers “Ferretti Rd. to Clements, Camp Tawonga, Berkeley Family Camp, Harden Flat, Naco West, Yosemite Lakes RV Pakrs, Evergreen Lodge, and Pine Mt. Lake.” Evacuees are being sent to Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora.
Officials also indicated to news today “The north end of the fire has crossed the Clavey River and is burning in remote and steep terrain. The north end is not threatening any structures at this time.” For the latest fire map click HERE. For continued coverage click HERE.
