ST LOUIS (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Is Phaedra Parks’ life being made into a movie musical? Phaedra Parks returns to the upcoming season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. But recently, a screenplay allegedly about Phaedra was sent to the U.S. Copyright. But Phaedra is not the author of the work, LALATE can exclusively reveal.
A peculiar copyright registration for a possibly unauthorized “screenplay” was obtained earlier this summer for “Phaedra Parks: Damage Control”. The author is not from Atlanta but from Los Angeles. The author claimed that his Phaedra work is a “script/screenplay”. But the U.S. Copyright Office disagreed. It noted “Deposit contains text of treatment/outline only”. In other words, there was no completed screenplay sent in for registration.
And could there be a Phaedra musical number involved? The author even registered the work not as a script but as a “Dramatic Work and Music; or Choreography”.
Strangely the work was registered just days after Parks’ new spinoff series on Bravo was confirmed “Rich People’s Problems”. “The rich certainly have an odd sense of what qualifies as a problem in today’s world,” said Bravo at the time. In related news, the Kandi Burruss vs. Kim Zocliak case is still pending. Parks represents Burruss in that federal action.
The new season of ROA kicks up its heels later this fall.
