ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The star of “Jett Jackson” is dead. Jet Jackson star Lee Thompson Young was found dead this morning August 19, 2013. The former Disney star most recently appeared on TNT. A publicist for Young quickly confirmed today Young’s cause of death. Lee Thompson committed suicide with a single gunshot, claims the publicist.
Disney fans of “Jett Jackson” were left in shock today when news broke of Young’s death. Young failed to show up to rehearsals Monday for his current TNT television show. Concerned producers dispatched crew members to Jackson’s apartment. Once informed of the situation, the landlord entered Jackson’s apartment to find him dead.
Initial reports suggested a possible suicide death. Thereafter, a publicist for Young told TMZ that the actor did commit suicide. “It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning … Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed.”
Officials have yet to indicate to news how long Lee was dead when his landlord found him. He was currently filming Rizzoli & Isles for TNT. It remains unknown when friends and family last saw Lee alive. He is best known for the title role in the “The Famous Jett Jackson”. Lee was 29. Funeral arrangements have not been announced to news.
