LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The California Fire Map 2013 grew today as the American Wildfire burns near Foresthill. The Banning, CA fire near Cabazon is nearly contained currently. But that is the case elsewhere in the state with the American Wildfire.
The fire began last Saturday near Deadwood Ridge, northeast of Foresthill. Officials report that “A Type 2 Incident Management Team is on order and expected to arrive today” and take over the fire.
Reps tell news that no evacuation orders have been issued. But there is reported dense smoke in some regions. “The town of Foresthill is not endangered and there are no evacuations ordered”, officials indicated Monday. But they added that “Smoke in the areas of Foresthill, Auburn, Nevada City, and the valley will likely continue over the next several days.”
The fire is approaching roughly one thousand acres as it burns seventeen miles northeast of Foresthill. “The fire has crossed the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the American River and is burning toward the Last Chance area”.
Smokejumpers remain key to today’s fight. But there is very steep terrain in most sections of the blaze. “Efforts are being focused mainly on the Deadwood Ridge and Last Chance sides of the fire.” For the latest fire map and update click HERE.
