ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The British Open Women’s Leaderboard 2013 results are almost completed for today with Morgan Pressel leading score results. Pressel is currently tied with Eun-Hee Ji. Both golfers are six under. Pressel has finished first round action today while Ji is on the eleventh hole.
The current RICOH Women’s British Open Leaderboard 2013 live results did not go as Inbee Park had planned. She finished the day tied in eighteenth place. She shot a decent three under, delivering a sixty-nine score. But that was not enough for the strong field from St. Andrews. With nearly $2.8 million in prize money at stake, golfers delivered five and six under first round scores today.
Pressel finished her first round six under, with Ji on the eleventh currently at a six under as well. Five golfers, however, ended today’s August 1, 2013 round tied in third place, officials tell news. Stacy Lewis, Na Yeon Cho, Mi Jeong Jeon, Nicole Castrale, and Ryann O’Toole all ended Thursday’s round five under. Thereafter, eight golfers finished tied in eighth place today as well after shooting a four under.
Park is seeking to make history. As reported previously on LALATE, a win by Park would make her the first golfer, male or female, to win four majors in the same calendar year. She tells ESPN that she was not bothered by today’s score. “Once the round started, and especially playing so good the first few holes, that really gave me a lot of confidence.” She added “I didn’t feel much pressure during the round. I’m just glad that it is already started and I got the first round under my belt.” By the end of the day, she wasn’t worried about her first round score. “Felt like a roller coaster today.” For live leaderboard score results click HERE.
