LOS ANGLEES (LALATE) – An A-Rod lifetime suspension if pursed by MLB may not be approved by Fredric Horowitz, claims a new report. Who is Fredric Horowitz, is A-Rod getting a lifetime suspension and how many games could Alex Rodriguez really be suspended for?
A-Rod, Fredric Horowitz, and MLB have yet to comment about new NBC report today about the Biogenesis scandal. The report claims that MLB has allegedly offered Alex Rodriguez a 150- game suspension. The report further claims that, if A-Rod doesn’t take the purported settlement, then MLB will seek a lifetime suspension.
Therein comes the twist: Fredric Horowitz. NBC claims that arbitrator Fredric Horowitz is likely to not agree to a lifetime of A-Rod. It remains unclear how NBC presumes to know how an arbitrator may rule on case that hasn’t even been presented, about a penalty that yet been confirmed. But it makes the claims today that the “arbitrator who would hear the matter – Fredric Horowitz – may not uphold a lifetime ban in light of the fact that Rodriguez has never been subject to discipline for PEDs before and because going all the way to baseball’s most severe sanction would be extreme for first-time discipline.”
If A-Rod can reach a settlement, how many game would it be? The report claims that it would be in the “100-grame range” and could be “150 games or greater”.
