LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Aaron Hernandez girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins and the Hernandez legal team fears that new cases may soon be filed against Hernandez, LALATE can exclusively report. Aaron Hernandez is the subject of only two lawsuits currently. His girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins is expected to be in court today as Aaron Hernandez makes another court appearance at 2 PM EST. But in documents obtained exclusively by LALATE, his legal team fears news cases could on the horizon. LALATE can further report that those cases could be the 2012 murder of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu, a possible NFL PED investigation, and a possible move by the Patriots to invalidate guaranteed compensation for alleged CBA violations.
Documents obtained exclusively by LALATE reveal Hernandez admits he is under investigation in other matters. Just days after Aaron Hernandez girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins (photos below) was last in court, his attorneys admitted “The circumstances of Mr. Hernandez’ incarceration, the criminal charges there at issue, other investigations that have received massive publicity and the nature of the allegations asserted by Plaintiff all combine to require additional time.”
Beyond the Odin Lloyd murder case and the Alexander Bradley civil case, what are the possible cases are looming for Hernandez? First is a possible criminal indictment fro the 2012 case of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu. That murder, and what Odin Lloyd knew about the killing, is expected to be the DA’s motive in their prosecution of Aaron Hernandez, LALATE can report. Previously the DA refused to mention the complete motive in the Odin Lloyd murder. When asked by the judge what was Hernandez’s motive, the DA initially said “the motivation? I would like to ask for a sidebar” keeping its disclosure away from news media.
Eventually the DA chose not to disclose the entire motive to the court, only stating “apparently Mr. Lloyd was conversing with some people [the night before his murder]. The evidence would suggest that the defendant [Hernandez] took exception to that.” Like the Odin Lloyd case, the Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu murder started again at a local bar, involved a purported dispute among men after a night of drinking, and ended with someone’s murder outside the bar.
Second, reports this week claim that a possible PED investigation is underway. No timeline has been released.
And finally, Hernandez could have a big civil dispute on his hands with the Patriots if they asset collective bargaining agreement violations. In 2012, the Patriots signed Hernandez to a $39.768 million contract. The Patriots have since terminated that agreement. But how much of Aaron Hernandez’s salary is still guaranteed?
Reports claim that the contract provided Hernandez $16 million guaranteed even if fired. Also he was given a $12.5 million guaranteed signing bonus, but that is prorated over five years. Reports claim that of, the guaranteed money, allegedly only $10 million has been paid so far to Hernandez.
The salary was guaranteed for “skill and injury” not for “personal conduct.” Accordingly, a CBA violation for personal conduct could result in Hernandez’s guaranteed compensation being revoked. One key NFL provision reads “Whenever the commissioner, after notice and hearing, decides that an owner, shareholder, partner or holder of an interest in a member club, or any player, coach, officer, director or employee thereof, or an officer, employee or official of the league has either violated the constitution and bylaws of the league or has been or is guilty of conduct detrimental to the welfare of the league or professional football, then the commissioner shall have complete authority to: Cancel any contract or agreement of such person with the league or with any member thereof.”
