LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Montana tornado 2013 in Dawson County today has prompted new warnings. The Montana tornado today July 20, 2013 was spotted moments ago in western Dawson, officials tell news.
The National Weather Service indicates to news that a tornado was spotted just after 7 pm local time tonight. “The National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to indicate a tornado. This tornado was located over northwestern Dawson County near Highway 200″. The tornado was roughly 11 miles northeast of Circle. The system is moving fast as well. Reps tell news that the tornado was “moving southeast at 25 mph”.
As a result a tornado warning “remains in effect until 730 PM MDT for eastern McCone and western Dawson counties” this evening. Weather Underground tweeted the same as well. “Tornado Warning for Dawson County in MT until 8:00 PM MDT”, replacing a previous warning for “Dawson and McCone Counties in MT until 7:30 PM MDT”.
Officials add that the tornado will remain over rural areas of Dawson County possibly within the hour. They are advising residents that “Heavy rainfall may obscure this tornado. … If you wait to see or hear it coming it may be too late to get to a safe place.” Several other tornadoes have been spotted across the U.S. this evening as well.
