Mountain Fire Map California 2013: Fire Near Mountain Center, Riverside Spreads Today

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Mountain Fire Map California 2013 spread dramatically overnight. The Mountain Fire continues to burn east Mountain Center and Apple Canyon in Riverside, Palm Springs, and in the San Bernardino National Forest today. But in a news briefing this morning July 17, 2013, officials tell news that the blaze grew from eight thousand to fourteen thousand acres overnight. The fire is located east of Hemet and Diamond Valley Lake Community Park. It is north of Anza and west of Cathedral City.

The Mountain Fire Map dramatically drew to 14,200 acres overnight while the containment lines did not improve. Containment stays at only ten percent in the latest news update. The revelation comes less than one day after a Type 1 Incident Management Team assumed command of the Mountain Fire on Tuesday.

Late last night, Camp Ronald McDonald was evacuated. Mandatory evacuation orders still cover “Andreas Canyon Club, which are the 24 homes south of Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.” Mountain Fire officials also indicate this morning other orders still in place. “There are mandatory Evacuations for the Living Free Animal Sanctuary, The Fleming Ranch, Bonita Vista Community (20 homes), and the Zen Mountain Center.”

The Mountain Fire is being fought this morning with more than two thousand fire fighters aided by ninety-eight engines. On scene will be fifteen helicopters, ten fixed wing aircraft, six water tenders and ten dozers. For the latest updates on the Mountain Fire, and a fire map, click HERE.
