LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Anne Heche joins the Michael J Fox Show, the highly anticipated NBC sitcom airing this fall. Anne Heche is one of several sitcom and drama casting announcement revealed to news this weekend. Anne Heche’s other credits include Save Me. She and Men in Trees. But after appearing in the short live NBC sitcom Saved Me, Anne will return to the same broadcaster this year opposite an unlikely co-star.
Heche inked this week a multiple episode arch on the Michael J Fox Show. The show centers around Fox’s character Mike who returns to a NBC News local affiliate after a five year absence of battling Parkinson’s.
Heche, in turn, will play a “sharp, savvy and tough-as-nails” character named Susan Rodriguez-Jones. Jones will be the news anchor for the local channel, insiders tell news. The date of her first episode has not been indicated.
So how can the anchor on a sitcom about a news station only appear in just a few episodes? Producers have yet to reveal if Heche’s character gets fired midway through the season or if a staffing change erupts.
Also announced to news this week are charges on Law & Order: SVU. For next season, Raul Esparza will become a series regular.
