ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Dean Peak Fire map 2013 grew today as the wildfire expanded toward Kingman, Arizona. The Dean Peak Fire is one of several Arizona wildfires burning today. But this blaze currently remains ten miles east of Kingman Tuesday, officials tell news.
Incident Commander Matt Reidy in a news briefing today noted that the blaze is at one thousand five hundred acres. The fire which started on June 29 is still very active. “The fire is located approximately 10 miles southeast of Kingman, Arizona, in the Hualapai Mountains, east of Dean Peak”, reps tell news. “The fire is currently burning on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land and is burning brush, pinyon, juniper, and occasional ponderosa pine.”
Today officials confirmed news that mandatory evacuation orders are in place for the Pine Lake community. Evacuees are being routed to the Kingman High School located at 4182 N. Banks Street in Kingman, AZ.
Pre-evacuation orders have been issued for the Pinion Pine community and communication sites on Getz Peak, reps also added. Closures are still in place throughout the area. “Old Highway 93 is closed and Hualapai Mountain Road is closed to Pine Lake. DW Ranch Road and Blake Ranch Road are also closed except for local residents. Hualapai Mtn. County Park and Wild Cow Campground will be closed until further notice.”
